The biggest 'prize', with the most stress, can be obtained from the Shell presentation. See one of the t/s 'hawkers' on Ali'i Dr. and hold out for $200 cash. They do grind on you. 90>120 minutes. I just kept saying "No thanks".

Kona Hawaiian Village (Fairfield) also has one but you 'only' get discounts to activities. 20% to 40% off various things, I think. Which is fine if you have 2 or 3 activities planned.

The Bay Club may still be doing them too. Not sure.

We did the Shell one and got the discounts, not the cash. The discounts apply to up to 6 people and only one couple has to sit through the presentation. Can't remember the value, but for us and the other couple, it was tremendous. We got out of the presentation in an hour since the salesman realized we knew something.

We went to the Bay Club a few years back - we were in and out in 10 minutes and had to ask to see a unit, as the salesperson was not interested in wasting his time with us when he realized we were there due to South African timeshares. We got up to three two for one activities, some free snorkel gear rental. It was very low stress.

We are Kona Coast II owners, and just went through their presentation, again. My husband would call it low stress, I'd say middle. We do think it is a resort well worth looking at if you are interested in the Big Island, and the discount card you get from the presentation is well worth it if you do many activities or if you golf.

We just did the Hilton presentation through Bay Club. It was the shortest and lowest key of any presentation we've ever attended. Lasted just 30-45 minutes and 10 minutes was a video. Received 2 free luau tickets from Marriott/Outrigger. Loved it!

Is that put on by Shell? Is it at the KCR II or nearby?
What were the gifts?

I did the Fairfield one at Kona Hawaiian Village. I agree, the discounts for the activities aren't that great; they also offer a $50 cash card for Costco, Walmart or some other place. Since I am single, after the fact, they tried to weasel it down to $25. $25 is not a big deal, but as a matter of principle, I wasn't going to let them get away with it. I won, but they won't get my time again.

Yes, the Kona Coast II presentation is Shell points, and it is at Kona Coast II. You get a "Diamond Card" and a flyer with a number of discounts on a whole range of activities from snorkeling to helicopters to luaus, golf, diving etc., the discounts vary by activity and company, and you can use as many as you want. If you are only doing 1 or 2 activities it might not be worth it, but we used it a lot. We were on property, so I'm not sure if there is any difference in what they offer others.

Avoid the Kona Coast TS presentation--The salesmen I was exposed to were OBNOXIOUS. Treated a single woman with such disregard, they really should have been slapped. So, despite the discounts, why encourage their tactics? They seemed to have so little respect for legitimate business.
