I saw the thread on presentations on the Big Island and thought that I would start one about Maui as we are going in May and would like to attend a timeshare presentation or two (to see resorts we might trade into and get a little cash or some discounts). So who knows what presentations are given on Maui and what the perks are? Are there certain activity brokers or individuals that can give the most incentives for attending a presentation? Is there a location where salesmen gather trying to get you to attend that we might be able to walk around and try and get the best deal? We have been to Kauai twice and attended a breakfast (at the Camphouse Grill) with Activity Warehouse in the morning both times that scheduled a TS presentation for us that gave us about $200-$300 worth of discounts for our party throughout our trip. Is anyone aware of a similar situation in Maui? Thanks, Jeremiah IP: Logged |

Marriott gave us $100 in certs. good at many restaurants & shops. Embassy gave us $100 in certs. too but you had to use them on site for food, etc. or room charges.Phil IP: Logged |

I think the Marriott is the best. The $100 certificate is good for about 20 or 30 restaurants and the same number of gift shops, not counting all the shops and restaurants at the Marriott. It's also a very low pressure presentation. I was done in 37 minutes, a new record for me. You can sign up for their presentation in downtown Lahaina.------------------ Timesharing for 25 years and still learning. IP: Logged |

If you post a request for a referral to the "Maui Marriott timeshare presentation and lodging offer" on the Marriott board, you will likely get one (I think Marriott owners get their dues paid for a year if they refer someone who buys a timeshare). Then you will get a letter from Marriott offering you 5 nights in a studio plus a free rental car plus $50-$100 in hotel credits plus maybe 10,000 United frequent flier miles. The rental car used to be a Mustang convertible, but they have cut back on that. The cost is $600. IP: Logged |

Last month my wife and I went through a Fairfield presentation in Lahaina (not at a resort, just in a shopping center). We booked some tours through ActivityWorld.com and they gave us $100 off our bookings to go thorugh the presentation.IP: Logged |

I think we have you beaten! Breakfast snack and quick presentation in 30 minutes! Marriott basically says... "here it is, buy if you like". $100 certificate we used at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. Embassy was just 35-45 minutes! No pressure. Big discounts that included Warren & Annabelles and the Hyatt luau. Sands of Kahana was the worst. 2 looonnnggg hours. Won't do that one again. We're in Maui now. We've done three presentations over about 10 days and survived all of them pretty easily (we were surprised to have walked away so easily) - We did Sands of Kahana - not too bad since we told them we own Worldmark and are happy with it) - We also did Fairfield - same result. The third one was Embassy - also not too much pressure. We've gotten two free whale watch trips - 4 tickets for two separate trips (and saw whales swimming under our raft, back and forth... and then a breach! - it was great) We also got free Reefdancer tickets - just thought we'd see what it's all about... $150 for dining and $50 cash. The presentations seem to be getting easier to get through and since we have lots of time this trip, we also wanted to hear a little of what they had to tell us in their sales pitch. We've gotten pretty lazy - not sure we'll do any more, but you never know. We don't mind the free dinners and activities at all.
