Jeff,

What I wrote doesn't apply to the *Vacation Ownership* (club) part of it.

The sales person I spoke to said that the new & *high end* resorts were going straight to II, leaving some of the older ones with RCI. So this won't affect someone joining the club but it does take away the perks of belonging to a group when half or more of the resorts in your group are not affiliated with the exchange co. that your resort belongs to.

I don't know which properties are actually in their point system but I do have the point values for some, and it seems like one property in particular is undervalued. For eg., a 2 bedroom lockoff at Mtn. Vista (1-15, 48-52), Mission Hills (1-21, 50-52), Desert Oasis (1-21, 50-52), Harborside (1-17, 50-52) is worth 148,100 points, and yet the same unit at Broadway Plantation (9-43, 47) is worth only 79,900 points. (All are 2 bedroom lockoffs.)

Whether you can buy a resale and convert into points depends on whom you're talking to. If you can, Desert Oasis seems to be the best buy and there are lots of resales for it.

How about five nights in middle of Paris in 9/02!!! I got those with Starpoints from our purchase of Westin Rancho Mirage. We also own at Marriott and this was SO much easier for such a tough place to get a 5* hotel!
