Author Topic:   HIlton Head internet access Makai Guy Administrator TUG Volunteer Posts: 5396 From: Aiken, SC Prefer to be: Hawaii Registered: DEC 2000 posted 03-03-2003 07:16             I've been researching ISPs with local coverage at Hilton Head Island for an upcoming visit, and basically have come up empty except for the local phone company's service. The HHI local calling area does not reach off island. For anybody interested, Hargray Communications does offer a visitor access package at $15/wk. As I always say about TUG membership, that's only the cost of one lunch for the two of us while on vacation, or less, so I'll probably spring for it. Here's the info: Call Hargray the day you arrive (or the day before, if that's a Sunday). They take credit card payment over the phone for the $15.00. You'll get a username, password, and local access number and they say it will be activated within two hours. Their office hours are Monday thru Friday 8 AM to 6 PM and Saturdays 9 AM to 2 PM.
