We own in Maui and just returned about 3 wks ago from our timeshare. Agree with all the xlnt suggestions, but didn't see one -- it is fairly new. We went to the Feast of LeLe in Lahaina which is a sitdown, be served luau. Very elegant and is held where the Old Lahaina Luau used to be. They feature four courses, each from a different island; i.e., Samoa, Tonga, Tahiti and Hawaii. Then a great dessert. Of course the bar is open and you can have ANY type of drink. In between each course is about 15 min. of entertainment from that particular island. You have your own host/hostess who explains each food you get. Lee Iococca and family was there right behind us! Another place to see a different part of Maui is Upland where the town Malakao (sp?)is. [I think Cathy is looking for Makawao -- mg] It is a cowboy town and area and there are artsy shops and restaurants there. Also a winery not too far. It is usually 5-10 degrees cooler there (escape on a real hot day?). Hope you have trade winds. We were 25 days on Maui & Big Island and the trades only blew about 15% of the time. It gets pretty warm when they don't. Did anyone tell you to pick up the many free magazines at the airport? There are coupons, free breakfast invites and maps in those guys. If you don't mind, you can sit on timeshare sales promos and get half off on most of the mentioned tours (not Trilogy tho). Aloha![This message has been edited by Makai Guy (edited 08-08-2001).]
