Hi Tuggers,I tried to help a friend donate a timeshare for her elderly parents and did lots of research on TUG on places to donate a timeshare. I then forwarded the information to her, and she chose to donate to Gifts for Sight. She downloaded the online form where you fill out all the info on the weeks being donated and authorize them to start the process of the transfer. Then she filled out the form and faxed it to them as requested. And now, it's sort of a black hole. She wants to follow-up on the status of the donation, and finds that there is no way to contact Gifts for Sight. No phone number or anything on the website, no info on the form she faxed. Does anyone have any insight on this situation, or contact info that she can use? She would love to just touch base and make sure things are moving along, but is now a little concerned about the whole situation. Thanks in advance for your perspective and help! ------------------ Shelley IP: Logged |

How long ahs it been? Are annual fees coming due, or is there some other reason this needs to be completed quickly? If it hasn't been over a month or so, I wouldn't get concerned. It takes a while to get the information back from resorts as to account status, annual fees, etc, before they can get ready to sell the week. Once they are ready, they will mail the deed(s) to your friend her to sign and return. fwiw, Greg quote: Originally posted by sfbenning: Hi Tuggers,I tried to help a friend donate a timeshare for her elderly parents and did lots of research on TUG on places to donate a timeshare. I have donated Timeshare Weeks to both The German Language School and the Christopher Foundation (Two to each). In neither case did anything like a month go by without any communication. That's rediculous. I'd just find someone else to give my Week to. When you do make sure you get a phone number, a contact person and a timeline.IP: Logged | |
