It's killing me, but I decided to cancel an exchange into NCV this summer. We've had to spend some $$$ on home rennovations, and have a 1 year old pup we rescued in March that we don't want to leave for a week!! (We already left him with a sitter for a vacation in April, don't want to do it again so soon!). I called Interval, and didn't realize that if the cancellation is within 60 days, the week they give you is kind of like an accomodation week, and you can only use it within 60 days. I erroneously thought I'd be getting my Marriott OP deposit back. It doesn't seem worth it to me, so I told II I was going to hang on to it and hope family can use it with a guest certificate. On the positive side, the II rep was very honest and asked "are you sure you want to cancel it?", making sure that I understood what I'd be getting back! On the negative, it was a hard lesson to learn-I wish I hadn't waited so long to make this decision!!! Has anyone else had to cancel within this time frame, and is the inventory available with the week you get as meager as it is with accomodation certificates? Lori IP: Logged |
