Just returned from this resort which is now called Mineral Springs Resort and Spa. I will post a full review but I did want to post here stating how pleased I was with the exchange and with the resort. We had a 3 bdrm condo. Very nice, modern and fairly clean. Couldnt have asked for anything more (except better climate control - see resort review). The resort boasts a state of the art fitness facility . THere are several indoor tennis courts, racketball courts a full basketbll court and an indoor track. There is a beautiful indoor pool with waterfalls, and a swim outside feature as well as two hot tubs. The resort also features an onsite, full service spa. I did not get to sample the spa services however their price list seemed to be in line with other spas - i.e. $60 for massage. As exchangers we were given full privaleges to use all of the facilities. I believe there may have been an additional charge for tennis, though. My opinion is that this resort really offers an attractive, upscale alternative to the Poconos. While my family is not from the skiiers, there defnately seems to be many trails to choose from for every level of experience at the Mountain Creek ski area which is practically onsite. And very important to many - there are about 3 golf courses affiliated with the resort. ------------------ Julie IP: Logged |

Julie, Thanks for your update. Have you noticed any differenses between The Resort Club at Minerals Resort and Northeast Vacations? According to II those are two different resorts: GGR and GG1. Which one you were staying at? Vicky [This message has been edited by rlnmslf66 (edited 03-07-2005).] IP: Logged |

My exchange was GG1 Northeast Vacations. Im not really sure what the difference is. When I asked here about this previously, I was told that GG1 was the newer section, and as far as the unit is concerned it was very nice, and modern with granite countertops, large ceramic tile in kitchen and bath, cherry cabinetry in the kitchen as well as throughout the unit, newer appliances and very clean and carpet and beautifully apholstered furniture. I was very impressed with the unit. There was alot of attention paid to the details of the decoration. I really dont know about the other section as this was my first visit. I stayed for the weekend and plan to head back up on Thursday for another overnite to complete my week. If anyone has any questions they want me to research while Im there, let me know.------------------ Julie [This message has been edited by Sunny (edited 03-08-2005).] IP: Logged |

I loved the place when we stayed a few years ago. In addition to all the advantages listed we found it was only a little over a hour to NYC in non rush hour. We spent two days and evenings in the city in addition to the resorts facilities. Snow tubing was fun nearby and the unit was so large we called home and invited our daughter and kids up. Have a good time. JimIP: Logged |

Julie,The resort web site is http://www.crystalgolfresort.com/ and they call themselves Crystal Springs Resort. Lots of amenities mentioned on the web site actually located in Hardyston, NJ (such as Crystal Springs Country Club, The Village at Crystal Springs and some restaurants). When you stay at Minerals resort you probably have access to Crystal Springs as well. If you get the chance to check it out, please let us know. Vicky IP: Logged |

I toured the "new" Minerals Resorts and Spa when they were still in the construction stage (2003).The units were a combination of standard hotel rooms and suites and were sold as whole ownership, which people could then deposit unused weeks with RCI. We almost bought, but when we read the ownership documents, we couldn't believe how slanted they were in favor of the developer. It was a good thing we didn't because there always seems to be a ton of resale units out there at LESS than the price we were quoted. The developer is now trying to get permission to build two more hotels in the area in spite of 40% occupancy rates in this hotel. Then again, since the owners bear all of the pain here, why not? From a lodging perspective, the spa/gym/pool area looks fantastic and it really is located well.. very close to skiing and the water park (during the summer) Legends (the other timeshare) is down the road a little bit.. the old Playboy club.. I haven't taken a look, but have heard it is extremely tired. Vernon really is a great place and you will see big things there in the near future as Intrawest starts developing (right now, there are still a lot of tentlike structures). We go there all of the time. Buy your season passes now if you are a skiier, as both Mountain Creek and Hidden Valley are offering unreal deals on the seasons ($239 and $179, respectively with free skiing for what remains this year)

Where would you find a good resale price on a 3 bdrm here ? I have only found one on redweek for 6,500. we are planning to relocate to florida and would like to add this resort to come back for christmas , family get togethers and it would be a green week 49 or 50 . any ideas or is this price on redweek a good one ? seems high. and as of now I see no exchanges for early dec . availableIP: Logged |
