I have been an owner at OLCC since 1993. We own 5 weeks at this resort and rarely trade our OLCC weeks. We have stayed at the resort probably 50 times over these 12 years. We have NEVER had any problems with bugs.

We own summer months but do RCI trades back into the resort at different times through out the year. We have stayed in several diffent units at several different location through out the property. In all these exchanges I have never found the problems that are being described in this post.

I am a very meticulous about a clean house and the worst I have seen at OLCC is dust on the lightbulbs and on top of the refrigerator. I have stayed at Marriott and Hilton exchanges and have found the same problems. This is only my opinion, but OLCC is a great resort with the most ammenities of any resort we have ever traveled too. We own several weeks at other Gold Crown & 5 Star Resorts that we trade but we always keep our weeks and return to OLCC.

asoffos and Diane V:

Well, I think you will love the resort, asoffos. Most people have great things to say about it. I should not have used the word "ugly," and I do apologize for that, because an older unit does not deserve that term. The word outdated is more appropriate.

The information on this site is invaluable. I think a person that reads this thread will make an effort to request a newer villa over the older ones, which would certainly ensure a great experience.

I do appreciate the last two entries in defense of my opinion and want to assure you both that my home resort (the one nearest and dearest to my heart because it was our first, purchased in November of 1981) is currently undergoing a major facelift: new cabinets, counter, tile in bathrooms and around tub, new furniture, exterior and interior paint, and the list goes on. We had so many negative comments about all of those things coming back from II, is my understanding, that we all paid $1500.00+ per owned week to fix the place. We had not stayed there for a while and were horrified to hear other owners complaining about the wear and tear on the units, at our annual meeting this past year.

The resort is now quite beautiful and has great decks. a new clubhouse, quarry tile instead of linoleum, and granite counters and light ash cabinets. The assessments of $1500.00 X 50 owners per unit is a lot of money, so we expected something amazing and received the value that was paid.

I imagine that there have been negatives about my resort posted in the past, I even tried to find some, so I understand the helplessness that a conscientious owner can feel.....
