I am being quoted $750.00 in closing costs for the possible purchase of a deeded property thru Island Consulting Realty. Does anyone else think this is high? Has anyone else who purchased from him negotiated this fee? Thanks.IP: Logged |

Tubbs is pretty straightforward, ask him why it's so high..... for example, if it were for the Manhattan Club then it's cheap, it's usually around 1K for some reason.[This message has been edited by Spence (edited 01-28-2005).] IP: Logged |

He double ends the deals - gets his commission from the seller and then does the closing himself. His closing cost fees are inflated and if you are successful in negotiating a lower fee make sure he puts it in writing or you may regret it as I did when dealing with him.If you want more details email me and I'd be happy to share. quote: Originally posted by Carolyn: I am being quoted $750.00 in closing costs for the possible purchase of a deeded property thru Island Consulting Realty. He also fails to mention he's accepting multiple offers ... but gladly takes your cc number for a deposit (as if you've got a done deal).IP: Logged |

i had an absolutley awful situation happen with his company and have vowed not to ever look at another one of his timeshares. i don't want to go into detail because i don't want a "catfight" if anyone form his company reads these boards, but it was a miserable experience.IP: Logged |

A wise choice on 2 counts, I'm with you I'll never deal with them again either and when I tried to warn someone off a while back (like you without posting details) Tom decided it was perfectly alright to post the details of my private transaction here on TUG - draw your own conclusions. quote: Originally posted by cathicool: i had an absolutley awful situation happen with his company and have vowed not to ever look at another one of his timeshares. i don't want to go into detail because i don't want a "catfight" if anyone form his company reads these boards, but it was a miserable experience.

I guess there is a lot of red tape involved when purchasing a deeded property in the Virgin Islands. Tom also said I could use anyone I wanted so I do feel better about this.IP: Logged |
