We are flying in on a Friday with a check in on Saturday and then, flying out on Monday. So, we are in need of lodging for the friday night before check in and then, the Saturday and Sunday after check out. Where would you recommend? There will be four of us (a 4 y/o and 18 month old). We will be staying at the Flamingo during our stay. Thanks! IP: Logged |

the easiest thing to do would be to rent at the flamingo. There are a few tuggers that own there that can give you the numbers or you can just go thru Expedia, etc. When we were down there we got a great rate on Divi Little Bay thru Cheap Carribean but that resort is a crap shoot on room quality. Don't wait to long if you can make reservations that are cancellable without a penalty do it. The weekend dates are going to get tough. ------------------ Lawren There are many wonderful places in the world, but one of my favourite places is on the back of my horse. - Rolf Kopfle IP: Logged |

Our flight this year to SXM arrived a day before our check-in date, so we stayed overnight at the Royal Turtle Inn. It is right next to the Turtle Pier restaurant, very close to the airport and a small, fun place. I can't help with how good it is for people with really little kids, since it was just the two of us I didn't really pay any attention. We did see people with children staying there. The people who own it and run it are all very friendly and helpful, the rooms are fabulous and I thought that it was a very good value. I'd suggest that you check it out - it was heaven to get off of the plane in the afternoon, re-group, walk only a short distance to a great restaurant, sleep in the next morning and then have time to organize ourselves (the shopping thing) before taking off to the other side of the island for our t/s stay. What a great way to start a holiday - I think that next year we should come two days early! LeAnn IP: Logged |

Although we've never stayed in any of them, it seems to me that Jeff Berger's SXM site, www.jmbcommunications.com/sxm.html , recommends the Horny Toad, Mary's Boon, and Turtle Inn.When we were there in February, we had dinner at Mary's Boon, and we met someone who was staying at Horny Toad. She liked the place and Mary's Boon (they also have timeshares) looked quite nice. Turtle in looks to be very close to the restaurant, so it MIGHT be noisy, but the room photos on Jeff's site looked very nice. (Note that it is also possible that members of Jeff's site get discounts at one or more of these places, but I don't recall for sure.) IP: Logged |
