Can you tell me what your surcharges where and for what? Some call it Energy surcharge, some Goverment tax, whatever, I call it extortion. I think St. Martin was $50 for the week, Aruba maybe $8 a day. I believe in all cases it will be assesed at checkout time, this means you pay it. IP: Logged

There are charges like - TS tax, utility charges, departure taxes, hospitality charges/taxes etc, etc. You should ensure that your rental agreement clearly states who is responsible for those additional charges. If you can tell us the island and perhaps the resort you likely would get more meaningful information. IP: Logged

I was thinking about exchangeing back into it and was wondering if I would have to pay the tax. I own there and when I go on my regular week I don't have to pay that tax. Also should I rent it some day.........will my renter have to pay that tax? I beleive it is up to $15.00 per day per person. Which adds up....would be a negative to the price as well.. ------------------ Marilyn and Michael IP: Logged
