I will be looking for airfare for my first trip to Grand Cayman in Oct. Please tell me what would be a good deal on airfare and when I should book to get the best deal. Thanks. BarbaraIP: Logged |

There's no absolute answer to give since airfares are dependent on so many different variables these days. October may be tough since the volume of travel to the island will be less than say in the winter months ie. fewer flights = higher prices. Check AA, US Air and Delta - most flights will connect through Miami, Atlanta or Charlotte. I copy/pasted this from another thread that's a few days old:
quote: I just saw a promotion from US Airways that if we go this summer we can get roundtrip tix for $200.00. ************ I heard Delta also had a reduced fare, but have not tried to confirm the info.Delta and Continental codeshare, so it might be worthwhile to check both airlines fron Newark and connecting thru Atlanta.

I don't agree that prices will be higher in the Fall because it is off season and there may be fewer. I generally watch prices to GCM from DC, as we own a unit there. I don't know what you consider a good price from KC, but currently, you can find airfares for that month for under $500 from MCI on USAirways.IP: Logged |

Check Cayman Airways at http://www.caymanairways.com/ They fly out of the US airports of Boston, Chicago, Ft. Lauderdale, Houston, Miami, Orlando, and Tampa. There are special "internet only" fares on their website and you can sign up to receive notification of specials by email.IP: Logged |

Sign up for the frequent flyer programmes and fare special emails of all the carriers going to Cayman, plus put a Travelocity fare watch on flights from your home city to GCM (Grand Cayman)... then when a deal comes up, grab it !------------------ www.thereef.com.ky IP: Logged |

I should also mention that we used to have great year round deals with Cayman Airways for our members at The Reef, but Cayman Airways discovered yield management and shut that down after Ivan.. oh well, fair enough I suppose, but great while it lasted.------------------ www.thereef.com.ky IP: Logged |

OK, I signed up for the Cayman Airways emails, travelocity fare watch. I really do not know what a "deal" is. As was stated above US air has a flight for $477 right now, is it a good deal or do you think I can do better? Thanks. BarbaraIP: Logged |
