We are interested in travelling to Portugal in late October, early November. We don't care about beaches, like small villages, and perhaps golf. Suggestions? are there language issues in the timeshare small villages? is there a web site we should go to for travel advice - we notice very little on tug. IP: Logged |

I think beaches and golf go together in Portugal. Lisbon is a great city. The Algarve is getting developed, so many of the small villages, especially on the coast has development, but you don't have to go far inland to see authentic villages. Monchique comes to mind, about a hours drive from Portimao on the coast. Stay away from Alberfero if you want authentic. This town caterers to the British visitor with every other street corner a Geordie pub or Fish and Chip or Roast beef restaurant. Although you can find some great spots for dinner and a night out here. Get yourself a Mishelin Guide book and Enjoy. There is no language issue here. The Portugal put most of to shame, they speak French, German, Spannish and English. They usually size you up and greet you in the language they think you fit.
