I called II this morning to ask about receiving an AC for a week I already deposited in Orlando during the stated time frame. She was able to issue an AC for me on the spot. If you've already deposited a week between Pres. day and Easter in Orlando, it's worth a call to see if you can get one.IP: Logged |

Thanks for this post about AC's -- had locked off our 3BR Grande Vista, President's Weeks 2006, and deposited both with II last month. Called today and was given only one AC. Should I have received two? This has never happened before, but they were nice enough to at least give me one to use!IP: Logged |

AC are typically not issued on lock off (studio) units. ------------------ Seth My Website IP: Logged |

II is giving out more ACs because it is a revenue stream for them, even if it is only a few hundred dollars, from excess inventory that would otherwise go unused, so I'm not sure it says anything about trading power.Seth, I agree with the first part of what you said, but not the second. Smaller unit, like for like exchanges, may not be as impacted by offering a larger unit (2 for 1, or 1 for studio)because there is more availability of those, but when you said a 3 for a 2, is no better than a 2 for a 2, I disagree. There are so few 2s, that if you don't have a comparable exchange, you need to tip the scales in some way, and from what I've read, it appears a 3 really helps. I'd like to hear from any of the straight 3 bdrms owners(is it Sabal Palms, or Imperial?). Can anyone offer any trade history info? I was always interested in those units because they are 3bdrms, and they are near the WorldCenter hotel. I bet those units trade well. Regards. Joe IP: Logged |

Joe, We had a thread on this last month, and had some strong disagreements. I'll try again however. I own platinum (or whatever its called) at the 3BR Imperial Palms. The last 2 years, I have traded for a 2BR Aruba Ocean Club over spring break and 2BR Kauai in the summer. I have previously pointed out that the II book itself specifically says downgrading gives you better trading power because 3 BRs are rare. When I have spoken to II about these trades they have said the same thing. Many on these boards say it isn't worth the incremental price for the 3BR. Perhaps at GV or HHI Surfwatch its not, but the price difference between Sabal Palms and Imperial Palms is not significant (albeit they are older properties). No one on these boards, including Seth (who based on his rave reviews I respect without even talking to him) will convince me that if my IP wasn't a 3BR that I would get such grade trades! When I do use it during a prime week, my kids can bring friends, and we have a great time! IP: Logged | |
