I have some extra RCI points that I am thinking of selling. What would be a reasonable price to ask for them. There is a RCI fee of $49 to transfer the points into another members points account that the buyer would have to pay. Let me know what you all think.------------------ Thanks, Steve IP: Logged |

Since RCI sells them for 2 cents per point, I believe, you'd need to sell them for less than that. Most people would probably be hoping for about 1 cent each or less, I suspect.JMHO. Sheila IP: Logged |

My question is: where would you sell them? On E-bay? TUG Classifieds? Unless you're buying a trainload of points the $49 transfer fee eats up 5000 pts right away.IP: Logged |

OK... from what you are saying, 100,000 RCI points should be reselling for $1,000??? That seems really low...!?Cheers Steve IP: Logged |

Look at it this way. Let's say the 100,000 points gets you three one bedroom Florida beachfront weeks which is realistic. Your cost is approximately $450 (cost of points + RCI Reservation Fee) per week. This is probably about what your MF and Taxes would be if you owned the Week. Or say you used your 100,000 points for two top of the line Gold Crown two bedroom weeks, your cost is approximately $650 (cost of points + RCI Reservation Fee). Again probably close to what your MF and Taxes would be if you owned.IP: Logged |

We own at Pahio @ Bali Hai and bought it resale on ebay. We attended a sales presentation at Bali Hai during our first visit, and we understood that points are not for sale and that the only way to convert our weeks to points was to pay full retail for another week. It would almost be worth it if they would allow additional resale weeks to be converted. We realize that buying resale is not the same as buying from the developer, mostly because of RCI points. A week is a week, but we are thinking that it would be nice to have large numbers of points, so converting one of our other four weeks to points is not an option for us because the points would be low compared to Hawaii; also, our understanding is that the points are rated differently by RCI, depending on whether you own at the resort and were converted, or whether you are just now a points member and are converting all of your units to points. The week to convert would be the Pahio because our points would be great for Hawaii, correct? Any help on this topic would be much appreciated. IP: Logged |
