I was told by Rob, a vacation counselor in the Canada office, after he double checked with his supervisor, that Extra Vacations are not bound by the "1 in 4" rule. I have arranged for two sets of friends to vacation at the Pueblo Bonito in Mazatlan this June. I called RCI yesterday, Feb 26,2005, while I still had time to cancel the second set of reservations without penalty. It is not that I don't trust the vacation counselors, it's just that they often have different information. I just want assurance, in writing, that my friends, who will be on their honeymoon, do not encounter any difficulties when they check in. However, there are some exceptions to this. If you want to be sure that the resort will allow your guests to check in, it is best to contact the resort directly to inquire. Try calling 52/669/9143700, and ask for Reservations. These folks should be familiar enough with RCI's program to help you with this question.
