With all the discussion of trading power vs. deposit window, one of the time-share resorts I own at does not schedule for less than 6 months ahead, whether for a vacation or a deposit.
The resort is a Gold Crown resort. What is the relation to the loss of trading power vs. an identical resort that allows 12 month deposits?

Gold Crown is an RCI rating. Did you mean to post this question there?

I have the same issue, actually, with a resort that trades through II, so I'd be interested in your answer. My resort won't let you reserve a week more than 6 months out. How much does this affect the trade power vs. if the week could be deposited 12 months in advace? Thanks!

It depends on the resort but I won't release specifics. In many cases, the difference between six months and twelve months is significant.

Craig,

I thought you mentioned in one of your initial posts regarding this topic that trade power starts to diminish 10 (not 12) months from the check in date. Is my thinking about the 10 months correct or does trade power start diminishing at 12 months?

I don't remember making that statement. It varies by resort; you should deposit as early as possible.
