I love this thread!I've been reading it over several days and I now know where my next trip will be...New Orleans. It has been 15+ years since I went and I am ready for another gastronomic extravaganza. I already have a Hawaii trip booked, two Orlandos (one with grandkids and one just the two of us), a Palm Springs fall getaway and just got home from the requisite Williamsburg week. Mexico doesn't inspire me, I no longer ski so winter in the mountains is a no go, and I have all of California at my doorstep anytime. Europe is just too far & too expensive right now. But New Orleans sounds like just the ticket. What are my chances for a non holiday, non monsoon season trade? I've got a strong trader. Thanks to all of you for the inspiration! Julie IP: Logged |

If youīre flexible about when you go, put your request in about a year in advance or so, and you donīt insist on one particular resort, your chances with a good trader are pretty good. Avoid the summer months -- itīs too hot and humid then. If you have a particularly good trader, SFX has been pretty good at getting people even holiday trades. Also, if you have a really good trader, there are many of us that own (some of which are holiday weeks) who would probably consider a direct trade, as well. ------------------ Those are my principles. And if you don't like them, well, I have others. IP: Logged |

Hoc,I went to Praline connection at Frenchmen St. first time 3 years ago and South Peters last year while at Plaza Suite for the first part of Mardi Gras and no comparison. I think S. Peter runs more of a buffet and a lot of the stuff is not the right temperature or under the hot lamp to long (dried out) when I went there. I went for the Gospel brunch and the food was only a 5 versus 9 at Frenchmen but the entertainment was kind of fun. I think they also get some of the convention business since it is only a few blocks from the convention center. IP: Logged |

Julie, There are some for rents ads for New Orleans from time to time on TUG classified. That is how I got a rental at Plaza Suites last year in Feb for early part of Mardi Gras On the exchange front, there are also listings on direct exchanges and possible exchanges on TUG.. Mary
