I ran into this and wanted to share it: I have just learned of a website that helps find the cheapest gasoline in your area, at least for the areas it surveys. And so far, it has covered all areas I have checked. http://www.ahding.com/cheapgas/ I want to give some comments, since it is much more powerful and useful than it appeared to be at first. My wife and I live just North of Indianapolis IN, in a community called Carmel IN. I enlarged the map, so I could distinguish which state was which and find Indiana. Then when I clicked on Indiana, it brought up Muncie IN, where evidently the cheapest gas in Indiana is found. But, that doesn’t help me, since I don’t live in Muncie. However, there is a little window that lists the various communities, I clicked on it, saw Indianapolis IN was an option, and clicked on it. Then, when it loaded the service stations with low gasoline prices in Indianapolis, it did not show the northern part of the city. As I wrote earlier, we live just north of Indpls, so I didn’t want to have to drive too far, or I would loose the benefit of a lower price. I looked further, and saw an UP arrow. I clicked on that, and the map moved, so I saw northern Indpls and Carmel. I clicked again, and saw Westfield, which is just north of Carmel, and where in fact, the cheapest gas in this area is located with a price of $1.84. Since we had just been in Oceanside, I thought I would check for it, but I didn’t see it as an option. So, I clicked on San Diego CA, and moved up until I found Oceanside. The cheapest gasoline there is listed as $2.25. As an aside, for those in the US, you can click on “Satellite” and see pictures taken of areas from above. I was able to find my own neighborhood and home. Neat!IP: Logged |
