In fact, having a policy of forbiding posts that TUG believes are in violation of RCI's rules might have an unintended consequence. People might assume that TUG is taking responsiblity for screening "illegal" rentals and assume that any rental here is legit. If one should slip through the cracks on TUG, but end up being caught by RCI, then the renter might blame TUG for allowing the posting.I think that in this regard, TUG would be safest claiming somthing like "common carrier" status -- just a medium, no filtering based on anyone's rules but TUG's. As for commercial "Last Minute" posts in general, I appreciate them. NTHC's, at least, are genuinely last minute cheap bargains. To me, LMR has two reasons for being -- one, to allow TUG'ers to offload week(s) that are about to expire with minimal recovery of cost, and the othre, to allow TUG'ers to find last minute bargians. You need to respect both aspects for this to work. If commercial posters put real last minute bargains on LMR, it could become better known as a place to go to find last minute bargains, which would only help TUGgers who want to offload their expiring weeks. ~~~Steve
