I have tried to 3 months now to deposit our ’05 usage at the Seapointer and Peninsula into our RCI Points account – no luck.Levies were paid 4 months ago – I gave the folks in SA 1 month to update their records (Maybe that wasn’t enough time?). I then called RCI Points and ask how I should deposit the points into our RCI Points account. They told me NOT to deposit the weeks into RCI weeks – it just messes up things. I then asked them to deposit the points – all the weeks were rejected! I sent faxes to the Seapointer and Peninsula asking for assistance. The Peninsula deposited the weeks into my RCI weeks account – I can see them. The clowns at the Seapointer haven’t woken up yet. I just requested that RCI Points deposit the weeks again – again all the weeks were rejected. RCI Points says it’s the fault of the resorts, the resorts say the problem is with RCI Points. RCI Points just today told me that the vast majority of SA weeks are being rejected by SA. A supervisor told me that so many are being rejected that they will not research the problems anymore! Does anyone know what is going on?
Thanks, Perry

Hi Perry, Wow, what a mess. I've never heard of this problem. You know what Madge would say- send an email to feedback@rci.com and put TUG in the subject line. That may not be a bad idea. They usually get back w/in 48 hours. Good luck.Phil IP: Logged |

Here’s the latest on the RCI Points fiasco.Wrote Tony Letizia an eMail describing the problem. He said that it’s not RCI SA’s problem – why am I writing him? RCI Points says its not their problem – why am I bothering them? The resorts say its not their problem – why am I bothering them? So whose problem is it? RCI Points of course – its their system full of problems. So as it stands we have paid the ’05 levies and already 1 out of the 4 weeks has lapsed the 90 window and can’t be deposited into RCI Points. I can see the 4 space banked weeks in our RCI weeks account – but RCI Points can’t touch them. Anybody have any other ideas? Thanks,
Perry

Perry, I had absolutely no problem depositing my 2005 Wilderness Dunes week into RCI Points about two months ago. Here's what I did:Emailed the resort manager at WD to pay 2005 levy and deposit the week into RCI Weeks. Once the deposit showed up in my Weeks account (about 36 hours) I sent an email to feedback@rci.com with TUG in the subject line. I asked them to deposit the spacebanked week into RCI Points. It took approximately 1 week for the Points to appear in my Points account. I've done this for two years running now in exactly this way. I don't call VCs, as they don't really seem to know what's going on and more often than not mess things up. Working through email with the RCI internet team seems to do the trick.
Good luck! ------------------ Janie IP: Logged |

Janie,Thanks, I'll wait a day or two before doing that. I sent a fax to RCI and I will wait for their reply (1-2 days at the max). Want to be that I never get a response? The folks at RCI Points really believe in the fairytale of "The SA resorts won't give up the points until Jan 1, 2005". Once they mutter this nonsense they get to go back and do whatever they do, just as long as it's not helping a dues paying member. Perry

Perry,In the past, my experience with sending faxes to RCI has not been too productive unless they are addressed to a particular person. I have also had very good luck with feedback@rci.com with TUG in the subject line. Good luck! Carolyn IP: Logged |

Perry,My expirence for the last few years has been deposit the SA weks into your weeks account. I usually do this a couple of years out. Pay the levies and have Tony put them into your weeks account. I then let them sit till about 100 days out from the use date, call RCI Points and tell them I want to do a points for weeks deposit. I tell them my weeks account number and the control number of the spacebank week I want to deposit into my points account. They then fill out whatever paper work they need to convert it to points and in about 3 days I have the points in my RCI points account. Has worked well for the last few years. ------------------ Say "Thank You" to our service men and women: http://www.defendamerica.mil/nmam.html IP: Logged |
