We are considering transferring our Hawaii ts titles to our living trust. We have been told Hawaii probate can be a nightmare and expensive. Does anyone have any experience with this subject......Thanks, Jan

The probate limit in Hawaii is $20,000. Therefore, if your timeshare is worth less than $20,000 it will not have to go through probate.

Jim, Thank you for responding. We have 5 timeshare weeks in Hawaii, each with separate titles. They are vauled all together more than $20,000, but, each less than $10,000. Do you know if Hawaii probates each title or total value?

Hi Jan !
We transferred our TS to our Living Trust.

The Atty who did our Living Trust recommended an atty in Honolulu.
He would have acted as the "middle-man" but since we were going to Hawaii anyway, we dealt directly with the Honolulu atty.

Spent about 45 minutes and it was done!

We have been quoted $690 to transfer 5 titles to our trust through a document service in Kona. They came highly recommended. Does this sound reasonable? Thanks for your response,...Jan

Aloooooha Jan !
Regarding: "We have been quoted $690 to transfer 5 titles to our trust through a document service in Kona. They came highly recommended. Does this sound reasonable?"

$690 divided by 5 = $138 is CHEAP !!!

Do It.....
Can't remember what we paid,
but it was more than $138

Thank you. We thought it was probably quite reasonable, but happy to have our impressions verified.

I put my Bay Club into a trust for $50 and it took about three
weeks.

We put ours in our Trust recently and used our Estate Attorney to handle it. They had a Hawaii company they worked with. Also we saw an ad on TST's right hand side that would do the recording also.
