Can anyone tell me when the slow time in Hawaii is? I know it is pretty busy just about year round but there must be a couple of months when it is not as busy as in most other months. Thanks for any info.

I'd guess it's October, November, except for Thanksgiving and early December. It surprises me that summer is as busy as February, March, from what I've read.

I certainly defer to the more experienced but that would be my guess.

Bev is right about the slowest season. I've seen conflicting information about which season is the most active: Feb/March vs. the summer. I think (not positive) the reason for the conflicting claims is that Feb/March is more active for Hawaii in general, but timeshares are more in the demand in mid-summer. That would be because lots of timeshare owners are travelling with their kids and want summer, while the hotels etc. attract a lot of empty nesters, honeymooners etc. during the heart of winter.

Bev, is right but it starts falling off in Sept.. The slowest two weeks of the year are the first two weeks of December. Then Dec.15th to Jan. 15th are the busiest weeks of the year. Then it slows again until Spring break week(s). After that, demand stays pretty even until Sept., when it starts to slow again. These dates came from the Visitor and convention bureau so this is not just timeshares demand.

Hawaii is the number one international destination for the Japanese and their school and holiday schedules are different than ours so you can't figure Hawaii demand by U.S. standards alone.

While school is one reason it slows down in Fall, another is the rain--you can get lucky and have some nice weather those months, but it is not as reliable.

We have been to Hawaii in September. The weather is great and it is the beginning of the slow season, ending with Christmas. I believe that the winter is actually the rainy season, but is a popular time to travel for those seeking to escape the snow. We have also been there in the end of April, which is the lull before the summer season begins.

Climate averages are just that...averages, and the "wet" season for Hawaii is generally from October through March. Here are some Honolulu rainfall averages:
January 4.1" Feb 2.3" March 3.1" April 1.9" May 1" June 0.7"
July 0.9" August 1.1" Sept 1.4" October 1.9" Nov 2.5" Dec 4.1"
The average winter temps are 76/69
The average summer temps are 83/74
Honululu never gets colder than 50 at night or hotter than 90 in the day, and those are the extremes...easy to see why it's paradise!

May is also a slow time, if you define that by lots of availability.
For the last 2 years, I've noticed lots of availability in hawaii within the 60 day window, or vacation escapes w\RCI\II\SFX.
I couldn't rent a memorial day week at the pono kai, even tho it was listed at 450. I assume that's because there were better deals out there
