I have heard of various complaints about GLobal Resort Services and in fact - about most timeshare resellers. Tug, Redweek, ebay excluded. And probably some more I have not heard about. Global services has a website http://globalresortservices.com/ but it appears pretty useless except for a phone number (I am a hard critic since I work with websites for a living). The scam that I am hearing is - The resort told me these guys would sell my timeshare for $$$$$$$ amount. I come home, pay the $300, and can never get ahold of them or get them to call me back. The timeshare has not sold. You hear the same story for rentals. I am not too sure if it is the resellers lies, or the timeshare's. The timeshare says they can rent it for $$$$ or sell it for $$$$. In actuality, even on the resellers website it says the selling prices are negotiable. But you can view their report at the better Business Burea, they are aka for Vacation Network Advertising in Fort Lauderdale FL http://www.bbbsoutheastflorida.org/nis/newsearch2.asp?ID=1&strBCode=06330000&ComID=0633000011001822 If anyone has a complaint or compliment about any reseller or renting outfit - please post a response. P.S. A few months ago when I got the first complaint I put a post here if Anyone had heard of Global Resorts. But then thought I had something screwed up because the property manager of the t/s i love is Global Resorts Management. Be it know - the name is a bit different and they are in different cities. Not the same guys. Global Resort Management in Orlando is a property managment outfit - not a reseller as far as my research can tell. I have always had good experiences with them.

You can be pretty sure that any entity that asks for an upfront fee to sell or rent your timeshare is interested only in that fee and will not provide any other service. Some of these companies change their names so fast, your head would spin if you tried to keep up.You can search this forum for the word "upfront" and see numerous other discussions - none good - about companies that charge such upfront fees. TUG's #1 rule: Never pay an upfront fee in an effort to sell or rent your timeshare. Excluded from that rule are nominal ($15-$30) charges for an ad, such as here at TUG. IP: Logged |

Gail, I know for a fact that the Mayan Palaces in Mexico used their services as we dealt with them too since we trusted our sales lady and her Sales Manager as they told us that they used their services with great success for renting their own weeks.Once the Global Resort Services Company has your money, you will never hear from them again. We tried for months to contact our sales lady who told us that we could call her any time. When you call the 800 number, you get very frustrated and often rude telephone operators because they must know that the web site is nothing more than a scam. I checked their Mayan Palace inventory just now and it looks rather small. I was told that they do no longer push their services. There are plenty others out there but Dave is right not to pay an upfront fee ever unless it is a small advertising fee. Sad is that most people do not know unless they happen to stumble here on the TUG forum. It was too late for us but we know better now. Emmy IP: Logged | |
