I am considering purchasing resale into this resort but have a few questions.1. does orange lake have an internal exchange program. In other words, can you trade for a different week, based on availability at Orangle Lake? If you can, is it easy to get what week you want. Are there other resorts which are part of a small group that you can trade for? I know RCI is available but there is a 1 in 4 rule. 2. Does RCI strictly enforce the 1 in 4 rule? 3. what are the maintenance fees for a 2BR 2 bath sleeps 8? 4. what are the taxes? 5 are they any benefits you don't get if you buy resale that the resort offers if you buy from the developer? 6. Is it a good trader through RCI? IP: Logged |

Hi Laticia! Ok....let's answer your questions! 1. No..OL does not have their OWN internal exchange program. You will need to join RCI. Thru RCI you will be given priority over any external exchanger regarding inventory. OL is very owner loyal, so you will always be able to trade back into the resort. The 1 in 4 rule does not apply to your home resort. You can go back to OL as often as you want. 2. operative assessment, reserve assessment and property taxes depend on which phase you purchase in. 3. your owner benefits are identical regardless of developer or resale purchase. 4. I have found my OL units to be a very good trader. I personally have no complaints regarding trading power. Let me know, if I can be of any further help. ------------------ Vickie IP: Logged |

As I understand the "1 in 4" rule, you may only trade into a particular resort once every 4 years.IP: Logged |

Timetraveler,What week do you own at Orange Lake for your trades? I own a two bedroom, week 22 at East Village and have traded a couple of times with some good trades, but nothing great. Maybe I haven't waited long enough with my ongoing seraches. IP: Logged |

re. trading--parents have a week 51 2 BR in older section. We get very good trades, but we trade 1yr out. We have used for skiing out West, but mostly we trade into hilton head for summer. We always are able to trade up to a 3 BR gold crown in hilton head during prime summer week.IP: Logged |

FYI. We owned a 2 bedroom week 21 at OLCC in Magnolia Court and traded a few years ago to Hawaii, receiving the Makai Cottages in Princeville as a trade. We now own a 3 bedroom in the East Village and have not used it as a trader. ------------------ Tony IP: Logged |
