I just purchased one of these older units. Fixed week 50. Price paid just under 3k including transfer fee. Do you guys think I did ok on price?

I think you did great. We spent $6,000 for a week 27 and I thought it was a reasonable price, although it was a few years ago and we weren't as experienced tuggers as we are now.

I heard that Lawrence Welk pulls very good trades, especially for the Royals in Mexico. You did well.

It's probably an OK price - not great, but not outrageous.

I paid $3200 for a 2-BR Summer week that trades very well. Week 50 is not the most desirable week - so may not trade as well.

I think you will enjoy the week and the place...
I have only visited but would have bought there under the right circumstances rather than the one in Cathedral City...

You did great. I paid $4600 about 10 years ago but in the case of Lawrence Welk (older units) to me the price isn't what mattered, it's the Resort itself. I would have to say of the many, many places we've stayed at LW is still tops.
Here is a tip. Go there, stay there, enjoy and then go to the on-site RCI office and book your next vacation. They are the greatest people to deal with. You got a bargin and change back.
