Hi all,We'll be heading down to the Sheraton Vistana for the first time next weekend and were wondering where exactly the nearest supermarket is. All help is appreciated. Thanks. IP: Logged |

Go to Publix.com and put in the Vistana address. There is one almost just across the street, but I'm terrible with directions. There is also a Sams Club very nearby if you're a member. They have a website as well. They had signs up for a new Super Walmart just down 535 from the resort when we were there in December. I doubt it's done yet, but it shouldn't be too much longer. We were just there last week. DO NOT go to the store accross the street. They're very expensive! If you take a left out of the resort, there is a Win Dixie about 1.5 miles on your right, just past the DisneyWorld entrance. If you take a right out of the resort, there is a Publix about 3 miles down on the left. If you continue to the end of that route and take a left, there is a brand new Super Target that has a full grocery store just behind Publix. I'm not sure how the food prices are, but they have everything. On your way to Publix or Target you will pass the Super Walmart on the right (not yet open) and a Hess gas station that we found to have the cheapest gas. It's fairly easy to get around there without getting lost. When you check into the resort they give you a package. In the package you'll find a thin booklet with some advertisers and in the center of that book is a fantastic area map showing the Vistana and all the local attractions. I found this to be the best map. You'll also love the Vistana's pools! Enjoy!IP: Logged |

Is the one across the street new ? I know of the Publix down SR 535 (turn right when exiting Vistana) which is about a 7 min drive ? There is also a Goodings Supermarket very close. Turn left when exiting the resort and go about 2 lights down. It is in the Crossroads shopping center. It's a little bit more pricey than Publix but very close.

To clarify, I didn't mean the off brand grocery store directly across the street. Ripoff prices there. There is a closer Publix now that the one down 535. If you hang a left on 535, turn right by Bahama Breeze and go by the Prime Outlets, you run right into it. It's just past Dixie Stampede. Closer and newer than the other one. Sheila IP: Logged |

The Goodings store was very good, but pretty expensive. It is probably a better bet, if you are stocking up for a week, to go to Publix.------------------ Bob B IP: Logged |

Goodings is at "The Crossroads" shopping center.Publix is down SR535 the opposite way of Goodings When you leave Vistana, to get to Goodings you make a left to go to go to Publix or SuperTarget you make a right. We went to the Super Target, being from NY it was weird to go into a Target and see groceries meats frozen foods etc. Found out from a local that Publix supermarket pretty much has the same prices even if the store is in a tourist area. Do have to add that the Hess station does have the lowest prices. IP: Logged |

mjasp,As I mentioned, there is a closer Publix now. The Hess mentioned in a couple of posts is also the best place we've found to buy 2 liter Coke products. They always seem to have them for 99 cents or two for $2 or something like that. Sheila IP: Logged |

The Publix sfwilshire mentioned is much nicer than the one at the end of 535; newer and with more interesting produce.IP: Logged |

I found their on-line preorder (and delivery) of groceries from the "on-site" general store a convenient way to get the first day's meal, drinks, and snacks while we unpacked and rested from the travel. They even had the items already in our frig when we arrived. IP: Logged |
