See my review. As an update I've now been to six or seven exchanges and I still consider that exchange to be a good one. Let me know if there are specifics you need. I had no trouble with noise. IP: Logged |

I stayed there a few years ago. Its pretty quiet. The units have two burners and a bar fridge. No oven or really a kitchen at all, only an alcove. Its conveniently located, unless you have a car, which you'll have to pay $$$ to park nearby.Fern ------------------ Fern Modena ©My words are my own, please don't use them without my permission. Thanks for the information. Last month I stayed at the Quater House and it was great - now I have two units on hold - Chateau Orleans and the Storyville - can't decide. However, I want to thank you Fern for the help on my Las Vegas exchange last December - You recommended the Las Vegas Advisor coupon book and it saved us a bundle - Thanks kindly FernIP: Logged |

Long as you like my advice, here's more I've never stayed at Hotel Storyville, but Chateau Orleans is in a much better location. If I had the choice, I'd take Chateau Orleans, unless I had a car... I have heard that Storyville is more like a bed and breakfast than a timeshare.------------------ john m jones IP: Logged |

We stayed in Chateau Orleans in '98. Location very good for French Quarter and most of what's to do on NOLA. Car park then was a bit costly but only one block away from resort. I bed unit was comfotable but not over large. Partial kitchen only as Fern says.------------------ Bruce E. Thanks for the information. I now have one week booked and want to go to N.O. for 2 weeks. Last month we stayed one week in the Quater House and one week in the Panhandle - did not have enough time in N.O. It seems to be a difficult trade in March - I usually have no luck with a search - I seem to have better luck if I call R.C.I. Anyway - thanks for the information on the different timeshares in N.O.IP: Logged |

ValHam,I bought a week 12 2bdrm unit (or 1bdrm with loft) sight unseen last year and stayed in it this year with friends and was quite happy with it. Paul is the GM and Susie is receptions a couple of days a week, both pretty helpful and very nice. I was in NZ last year for 6 months and my sister decided to do 2 weeks in Orlando rather than 1 week each in Orlando and New Orleans so actually rented it to a Tugger last year that was thinking to buy there and he stayed and was happy with the stay so he purchased his week with a clear mind. In Summary, the location is very good about 2 blocks from Bourbon st and 1-2 blocks from Canel but it is quiet. There is a decent courtyard with a pool, a bit cool for March, but you can go down and have breakfast or have a drink down there. Lots of nice restaurants around so the small kitchen is not a handicap. The issues I have with the resort is that it does not have a lift and we were on top floor so getting luggage up was a bit of a pain and the daily multiple climbs. A friend and mine and her mother went there on the Sat for the week since I was only there for the long Easter weekend and the boy that help with the luggage is only available Friday afternoon and early evening and believe me, those friend(s) were not travelling light. If I have remembered to forwarn them, they might have packed lighter (yeah sure) or at least in 2 smaller bags each which would have been easier getting up the stairs. I had the loft, my friend had the couch and her mother had the bedroom so everyone had their own space. My unit had a couple of sofas, a table with 4 chairs and a partial kitchen that would have been an issue anywhere other than New Orleans. Glaced in a 1bdrm unit and it was spacious enough although 4 would be a squeeze. There are several buildings so each unit is a little different and some of the furnishing is a little worn but comfortable enough. If you have any specific questions, feel free to e-mail me. Cheers, Mary [This message has been edited by MaryH (edited 05-24-2005).] IP: Logged |

Storyville is above Rampart street so you could not walk to the area of the French Quarter where the most popular activities are. Driving would be an option but parking is a big hassle.IP: Logged |

We stayed at Chateau Orleans in April and really liked it. It is a a very good location two blocks from Bourbon Street, and was quiet except for Saturday night which is a big par-tay night at Tango's Bar & Grill across the street. We'd definately go back and I'm trying to get an exchange there for next year.
