My mom will be 80 in August. Living in the Indianapolis area, I was trying to think of a place we could drive to for a surprise vacation since she doesn't like to fly. I have decided upon Branson in September for the 2 of us since my son is getting married in August. She is still very mobile and can do a flight of stairs with no problem (2 flights in a row might be too much). I have narrowed it down to 2 resorts. My dilemma is I'm not sure if we want to stay by Table Rock Lake (Grand Vista Emerald Pointe) or near town (Grand Vista Cedar Ridge-Westgate Branson Woods). We plan on going to about 3 shows and spend the rest of the time shopping and exploring the area. I know it will be hot so we don't plan to do alot of outside walking. Any help on which choice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.Carolyn IP: Logged |

My vote goes to the Woods, based on what you say you will be doing. You will be closer to shows and shopping, but Woods is in a nice quiet area. You could always drive out to see the lake, but you would be doing more driving if you stayed at Emerald Pointe, I think. ------------------ Sandi IP: Logged |

I completely agree with the above poster. Woods, hands down. Emerald Pointe is nice but we just drove to the lake and spent time there. The Woods has the country feel yet close to everything. IP: Logged |

What everybody is saying! Its location is the Woods' best feature (and not its only one, either). For what you are wanting to do, it will be far better. Hope this is in time for your trade. Tom

I agree with what has been said. We own at the Woods and we have been to Emerald Pointe to see the condos. Neither one of them is now Grandvista, though. Westgate bought them. Grandvista no longer exists. They are now called Westgate Branson Woods and Westgate Branson Lakes at Emerald Pointe.

I am typing this from my one bedroom at West \gate Branson Woods (another 8,000 point/45 day window reservation). The unit is great; check-in was friendly; the guy who was supposed to hustle me was on break so I didn't get any sales pitch; the entire resort is very nice; and they seem to have a lot of activiites planned.Note that there are speps (maybe 10 to 12) needed to reach my unit. If your Mother (or was it Grandmother) would be bothered by steps, I would ask for a unit without steps. It is only Saturday night but there seem to be a lot of empty parking spaces indicating a lot of empty units. It's a go!! IP: Logged |
