We stayed there the week before we went to New Orleans. Just make sure you do not get a unit near the road, it was terrible. The units really needed redoing badly. We did get bored with the area as we are not casino people.

We are owners of four weeks at this resort, and we return there often because we enjoy the area very much.

Last year we stayed there for one week in mid-February, after having spent the previous week in New Orleans.

This is an average resort. The units are large. Each has 2BRs and 2 Baths. Over the last two years, the resort has been replacing and/or upgrading the furnishings.

What we like about the area are the beautiful beaches, the very inexpensive golf courses, the casinos and shows (we are not big on gambling, but we enjoy the half-price buffets for seniors and the wonderful seafood), and most of all the friendly people that live in southern Mississippi.

There is excellent fishing in the area as well, and the nearby Stennis Space Centre and SeaBee Naval Air Museum are fun to visit. If you happen to visit during the Mardi Gras period, there are plenty of MG activities in and around Gulfport.

The Gulfport Library, about one mile away, will give you a one-week membership which you can use to access the internet using their computers if you wish.

I think you will enjoy spending a week there.

we did most of the things whitecapper recommended. plus we took the shrimp boat tour and went to one of the national parks along the seashore. we ate at so many half price buffets we still haven't taken off the weight and we went to two shows. we also went to Jefferson Davis's home and the historic things in Biloxi.
We still found plenty of time on our hands. Maybe because we didn't find the beach that appealing or the run across thebusy 4 lane highway. I wouldn't bother to plan on cooking because you can eat so cheap at those buffets or at really cheap breakfasts.
