We have an upcoming exchange into Kona Hawaiian Village by the Sea in May 2005. Where is the second pool located? (it does not show on the map in the Reviews database.) Best regards, Maria & Tim

When we were there in February there was talk of a future second pool, but no one new when. Are you sure it has been constructed? Greg

I don't know if it's constructed yet, but I have a site map from the Fairfield yahoo group that shows it on the other end of the complex near Kuakini Highway, near units 64-66, 71-73. I can e-mail you the map if you like. I'll be there next month and will report back on construction status.IP: Logged |

Hi Ailin: Thanks, I'd like that. I looked on the Yahoo Group, but didn't see the layout for this resort (saw that they had many others.) I must have just overlooked it.My email is javanite@yahoo.com I'll look forward to your report next month. Do you have your unit assignment already? Best wishes, Maria IP: Logged |

You have mail! It's under the Hawaii group, that's why you didn't see it. I have unit 38B, but I think I might try to get it changed to an upper unit. Ailin IP: Logged |

Dan, How did you like KHV? What unit did you stay in and how was the view? What buildings do you feel have the best view, not necessarily ocean, but I don't particularly want to look at the back of another unit, which I understand is a problem at KHV. We will be there in January, first time in Hawaii. Julie IP: Logged |

Julie@Dottie We stayed in building 9 unit 22a it had a filtered view of the pool and the bbq area.I have bad knees so need a unit with not a lot of walking. If I were to request a unit and mobility wasn't a factor it would be building 8 units 20B or 21B or building 3 units 6B or 7B. These are second floor units (less noise) with views of the pool. I own at the resort and really like it. I have stayed at most of the timeshares on the Island. KHV is my favorite then Kona Coast,Mauna Loa Village and Bay Club. Bay Club Units are very nice but are located to far from town for us. We will be at KHV 4/23/05-5/7/05 and Holua at Mauna Loa Village 5/7/05-5/14/05. Would be happy to meet for drinks. DanWe always enjoy the opportunity to meet tuggers. Meeting for drinks sounds good. Let's check on it by email in the spring. Maybe some other tuggers will be on the island too. We are looking forward to spending some time on the island. The only time we were there was many years ago while on American Hawaii Cruise and did a day visit. Dottie IP: Logged |

Hi Dottie, Dan:We will be at Kona Hawaiian Village May 7 - 14 (I remember Dottie mentioning her week overlapped with ours on the Sightings board when we first booked our units.) It would be fun to meet you all while we're there! Cheers, Maria javanite@yahoo.com IP: Logged |

Are B units lower or upper floor? The table in the review section has it as lower and most of the information in the reviews agree with that, but a couple don't. So, I'm a little confused. Can someone clarify?

Phil: Saw on another post that you stayed at this resort in Jan 2005. Has the second pool been constructed? Any additional building/unit numbers that you would consider desirable? Many thanks, Maria & Tim IP: Logged |

I just got off the phone with a friend that works at KHV. She said the pool is not built yet. She doesn't know when it will be built.IP: Logged |

No, the 2nd pool hasn't been started-as of Jan. There are a lot of good units. It depends on how isolated you want to be. Near the pool? Far away from the pool? The units are assigned 'check-in days'. So, a third of the units have Fri. check-ins, a third Sat. & a third Sun. This is important if you want to change units at check-in. You'll be limited to 33% of the units. I do not have a list of which units are assigned which day. Phil IP: Logged |

We just checked out of Unit 15B which is on first floor ajacent and behind the only pool, Unit 14a is on second story directly across the open entry way and even closer to the pool. Only a little noise with AC on and windows closed. The second poolis also small and the concrete is pored. It could be ready in May if they work hard. We kiked the older units since the vegetation is mature. Good resort and close to the strip in Kona.Tom IP: Logged |
