Our family of seven returned from Puerto Vallarta on Sat. AM. For the last few days I have been very light headed. My son also has been a little light headed with some diarrhea. Has anyone had the same symptoms or is it just a coincedence? We ate and drank only ate reputable restaurants. I went to my MD and said it could be virtigo. Thanks for any responses. -Louise IP: Logged |

We were there at Club Regina also and we probably saw each other and didn't know it. We spent a lot of time in the warm middle pool. Wish I had known you were there. We didn't have any adverse reactions. Just some jet lag that is hard to overcome. Facing Ohio snow is not an easy adjustment. ------------------ DonnaD. IP: Logged |

Lynda & Ken, It was so much fun to show you a few hints and to have a little visit with you. It was like meeting old friends for the first time. How is your weather? It is so cold and snowy here...I miss PV and the lovely resort. I just checked my travel points to see how many more we need to earn to be able to make another trip....dream...dream on for now. what have you two been doing this week? We met some people there that have 2 bedroom units for 2 weeks and their kids didn't make it down..If you want to rent a edroom from them for your last night, I will describe her to you. Let me know.

Don't worry PV is warm. I didn't need a sweater and I never wore a shoe when Donna and Lynda were there. As usual it is raining here in Southern California. There only problem with not bringing shoes or pants is that you can't get into some places to eat. As far as the real topic of this thread... We go to Mexico a lot and use the rule: Eat everyhing and drink everything in the resorts. Cokes and coffee downtown, ice is OK (they bring it in) and nothing from the vendors. That corn sure smells good at the end of the Malecon... we haven't been brave enough to try it. Vertigo doesn't seem like it is something that is caught or comes from eating. It would be unusual for two people to develop it at the same time after a trip. ------------------ Allen and Patti Iseri IP: Logged |

Thanks for your input. It turns out the light headedness was allergy related. Coming from NY in the frigid temperatures and going to PV set off allergy season in both me and my son. Taking the allergy-type decongestive has stopped the dizziness.DonnaD....Our family enjoyed the pool by the massage area. It was close to the entrance to the beach, so my kids could run back and forth and not be intimated by the vendors on the beach. We all had a wonderful time at Club Regina, including my husband with a full cast on his arm. You might remember him. He got a lot of attention walking around. -Louise IP: Logged |

Louise, We went to the middle pool that was heated. We really didn't get over to your area. I don't remember seeing your husband... so I guess we didn't meet. I handed several TUG cards and 2 people have joined TUG since then...I know they will learn a lot about timesharing from the pros on these boards.Do you own at Raintree and did you go thru a presentation?

DonnaD...We did go through the presentation for 3 hours! I've been following the conversations on TUG about Starwood taking over Raintree and was anxious to see what they would tell us. It was not mentioned at all during our presentation. Towards the end, I asked about Starwood taking over. She did confirm that Starwood was in negotations. The salespeople are instructed not to talk about it yet. Renovations on other Club Regina resorts have begun in Mexico. CR Puerto Vallarta would be the last resort to be updated. We were on the third floor in the building next to the hotel. There were renovations on the first floor. The paint fumes were unbelievable on our floor. Apparently, the takeover of Raintree will increase the value of properties owned if Starwood takes over. My husband and I own RCI points and decided to buy more points with Raintree. So we'll see what happens.-LouiseIP: Logged |

Thanks for your report about the update. Wonder if I can inquire about your reasons for deciding to upgrade your points? Did the probable takeover by Starwood influence your decision? When you upgraded did you keep Club Regina in Mexico as your home resort? Or did you upgrade so that your home resort is at Cimaron in Palm Springs? Thanks again for your report. ------------------ Doug Chapman dchapman@teleport.com Portland, OR IP: Logged |

We went to the presentation too. (We bought a one bedroom in prime season for a little over $1,200 several years ago on the Internet.) They wanted us to upgrade to RCI points for $6K. We were adamant that we were not interested. Gabriel was very terse with us and rude I thought. I finally walked out before he brought in his "closer." The Starwood thing is interesting and I got the same info as the poster above. I will wait to see what Starwood does before I buy any upgrades of any kind. Weather this week was warm and very sunny. Coolish in the morning- yes, Alan laughed at my jacket one morning! Had fun meeting him and his wife Patti and thought I had indicated so in my above post to Donna D. Somehow, I must have deleted the last line of my post, sorry! Spent our final night at Samba Vallarta in Nuevo Vallarta (a newly acquired Pueblo Bonito property)which we really enjoyed. Beautiful beach. I am not a fan of All Inclusives but this was wonderful- great staff and nicely kept public spaces, albeit an older property. Very good food. Would go there again... Miss PV badly and loved the buck Corona's with tequilla chaser at Victors, Donna. Then, we dropped our laundry off right near there and it was washed, dried, folded in two hours, for 45 pesos. What a great country...IP: Logged |

Lynda, Glad to hear you had good weather too. It has been so cold since we got home...I really miss PV too. We know we won't be getting away again for several months, but can't complain too much since we had 3 weeks in Mexico already this year.It was so nice meeting you and being able to put faces with the Tuggers on the board. Now back to your teaching...sounds like you love your kids. I think you are smart to wait to see what Starwood has to offer. Certainly there will be an upgrade fee with them too. allen had a great deal with the weeks he alredy had accumulated and his cost to upgrade to sapphire points with one year advance reservations for accelerating is an excellent choice for them at this time. it just didn't make sense for me at this point to make a change....I will wait to see what comes. have a good week, and welcome home. ------------------ DonnaD. I would be reluctant to believe statements that Starwood has already taken over other CR resorts and has begun renovations in anticipation of acquirirng CR. When you are in process of buying a new home do you renovate prior to closing??? Starwood is public company and I doubt it spends money on fixing up property that belongs to others without a signed contract. Too many rumors and not enough facts. JHS IP: Logged |

Hello, It was really nice meeting everybody in PV. Patti and I are enjoying the rain in Southern California...but it is 65 F. I have used our newly acquired Club Regina membership to make some trades. I am getting good deals. What we will do is start a new thread on the Mexico board as soon as I straighten out a few things with Club Regina. I want to get my facts right and I will need some time. Patti and I are in our play hard - work hard cycle so about the only time I get is on airplane trips. Doug mentioned that the deeds are from Cimarron. As far as I know, that is only the Sapphire. If you purchase an Emerald, it may be from another resort. Remember there are 3 transactions going on. 1) You purchase a unit, time and property. 2) You lease it to Club Regina and 3) They lease it back to you for the same number of years.------------------ Allen and Patti Iseri IP: Logged |

Hi Allen & Patti, I can't wait to read what you learn...I know you will have a clear picture. You ought to check out the Raintree resort in Hawaii when you get over there, if you have any time. I heard that it needed updating badly. Hope all goes well on the condo there. I don't have your email. Mine is donnadanne@yahoo.com. ------------------ DonnaD. IP: Logged |
