Is there a rental fee to use the tubes for the lazy river? If so I think I will bring my own. Going there in July I know it will be very hot and I am going to spend a lot of time in the lazy river. Let me know about the rental fee, I know they charge for it in NV. IP: Logged |

The lazy river is part of the Mayan Palace waterpark. If you own with Mayan Palace resorts, you have free access to the waterpark. If you are exchanging into the ACA Mayan Palace you will have to pay the admission of $12 per person per day.------------------ "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the places and moments that take our breath away." Staying at the Grand Mayan, you walk right past the waterpark on the way to the beach. We skipped it rather than pay the exhorbitant fee, so maybe this is sour grapes, but it looked unimpressive. Mostly the users seemed to be young children, with parents or nannies.Don't forget the hotel pool system includes a channel, 1,000 meters long, a few meters wide and waist-deep, billed as the world's longest lap pool. It's free and pleasant for swimming, walking or floating. So if you have a tube, I'd say bring yours for that! IP: Logged |

We stayed at the Grand Mayan in ACA in Feb. 2004. If you had a Grand Mayan wristband, there was no charge. The tubes were at the waterpark. There were different charges depending on whether you were an owner of MP or an exchanger. Since we exchanged into the Grand Mayan the first week and stayed a 2nd week in the regular MP, we got to keep our wristbands and used the water park to float the lazy river. (I gave my wristbands to some friends so their grandchildren could use them the following week.)When we were at the Grand Mayan in NV in Feb. 2005, you had to have your own tube. People from the regular Mayan Palace were using the lazy river too. We bought some tubes from a guy and then passed them on to some other people with the condition that they too pass them on. There were more adults in the lazy river there than kids. The kids were waiting for the new zero entry water park to open. I don't know if they are starting to let everyone use the water park and furnish their own floats or not. We plan to take some with us when we go to the MP south of Cancun in November. IP: Logged |
