If you had to decide which part of Fairmont Villas to stay in, would you choose Mountainside (FBC), Riverside (FMR) or Hillside (FMH) ? Is Riverside the most up-to-date or are they all similar ? Is there parking close to each building ? We don't want to climb hills or face too many stairs. Where would you buy groceries, etc. ? I have read reviews but would be grateful for any comments, good or bad !MikeS IP: Logged |

Hi Mike,We own at Riverside so I maybe able to help. Mountainside are, as the name suggests on the Mountainside they are very rustic looking set in the trees on Mountainside Golf Course. More like a cabin, but very nice. The Master bedroom is upstairs. They do not have a lock off. Riverside units are on the Riverside Golf Course and are villa style. Very nice location with great views of the valley and golf course. They are close to rec centre and tennis courts. Hillside units have been built in the last five years and they have just completed the final building. The units at Hillside are beautiful and elegant and very similar to Riverside. Hillside are on the Riverside Golf Course but on a bit of a hill and a few minutes walk from the Rec. centre. Both Riverside and Hillside have lock offs. I like the villas at Hillside best because they are new, but prefer the location of Riverside. Some people prefer Mountainside because of the setting in the trees but I like the view of the Windermere Valley. Within the past few years they have built quite a decent grocery store just up the hill at the shopping centre. It is about a 10 minute walk from the Hillside villas. Good Luck, Donna.

A few others notes. Riverside and Hillside have no elevators and are three stories high. Mountainside all have entrance at ground level.Parking is good at all three. IP: Logged |

Thanks, Donna, this helps. Is there an alternative to a grocery store at the resort ? How far do you have to drive to find one?MikeS [This message has been edited by MikeS (edited 05-15-2003).] IP: Logged |

There is a small convenience store at the resort, otherwise the main grocery store for the Fairmont area is a 2 min. drive. There is a large supermarket in Invermere which is a 20 min drive.Donna IP: Logged |
