We are considering a 1br or 2br Fairmont purchase. Can you tell me how they trade with II. I can get Gold (Summer), prime ski (wk 1-18) or the other weeks. I can get Mountainside, Riverside, or Hillside. What are the trading differences for Winter in Hawaii, and Paradise Village in Nuevo Vallarta for example. Thank you very much for the help.IP: Logged |

I'm sorry to tell you but IMHO it may be one of the worst trading TS in BC. Fairmont floods II with inventory. (During spring break of next year there are 25 units available for trade for just that one week) I'm sure a summer unit would trade better but it is just has got too many units in the trading pool to trade well. We own at Riverside and Hillside, both are prime golf weeks. May, June, September, October. We have owned for about 7 years and have really seen the trade value go up. We bought because we love to golf and ski and we love Fairmont. However now that our kids are older 18 and 15 we decided to do some trades, using our lock off unit we traded into a two bedroom Royal Sands Easter 2003 and this May we also traded our lock off for a two bedroom Four Seasons Aviara. My friend who owns ski season has been to the Marriott in Kauai and Four Seasons Aviara. I am thrilled with what I can see on line. All these trades were done at least six to eight months out. What Bill said is correct, there is lots of inventory for spring break as it's the tail end of Ski season and just the beginning of golf. We have been going to the area for Easter for the past 24 years and sometimes we can still ski and golf and sometimes we can't do either. Hope this helps. Donna IP: Logged |

We were at Mountainside last week, and had a wonderful time. We put the request in over a year ago, as we wanted to try it. We were told that most of the owners were Albertans who return every year, and we found that to be true. It seemed that everyone we talked to was there using their own week, Mountainside has clustered villas in a woodsy setting, the others are condo styles. It is a great place to visit any time of the year.IP: Logged |

I would think that a summer week would trade well, and they now have a system where you can trade into Shuswap houseboats. But I believe that other seasons would be mediocre at best.JMHO Bev IP: Logged |

I think that houseboat and other vacation stuff is a benefit to you only if you buy from the developer.IP: Logged |
