Has anyone been successful trading into the Marriott Surf or Ocean clubs in 2006? I've had a pending trade through II for either facility since March of 2005.-------------------- Tom IP: Logged |

When are you trying for in 2006? If it is more than one year from now those weeks likely wouldnt have been deposited yet. I think the Aruba Marriott's allow deposits with II one year before. If it is in the beginning of the year I think you will still have to wait several months before most owners make decisions to depsosit next years weeks. We got our trade about a week and a half ago to Surf Club. We traded into a 1 bedroom with our Thanksgiving Harbor Point week. Trading seems to work best if you can get your trips requested a year out as a lot of deposits seem to be made then. Our request was for the first week in April and we only waited one week. Needless to say my wife and I are as pleased as punch with this trade.IP: Logged |

I posted a trade for the week of 03/4-11/2006...attempting to exchange a two bedroom President's week in Orlando for a week in the Surf or Ocean Club. I submitted the exchange on 03/09/2005.-------------------- Tom IP: Logged |

You should have a lot of trading power in that president's week. I'm not sure how many people give up their entire 2 bedroom units in Aruba or how many 2 bedroom units are available in the resort. From what I read most use the lockoff feature and rent out one side and then use or trade the other. If this is the case there will be a limited supply of 2 bedroom units. This is true for the Hawaii resorts that have lockoff's. There aren't that many to go around (most of the units are configured 1 bedroom) and those that have 2 bedrooms can do the split thing to pay for their MF's or trade for two consecutive weeks. We have stayed in Kauai twice in 1 bedrooms with 4 people and have done that comfortably. If you have more people going then holding out for the 2 bedroom would be necessary, you still have plenty of time to wait. Otherwise switch to the 1 bedroom and your chances for a trade would be greater and probably faster as well. IP: Logged |

I deposited an Aruba Surf Club 2br unit in II for the week beginning 4/1/06 - I am hoping to get a 2br Barony or Grand Ocean in summer of 2006. I must be 1 one the few that would give up a 2br platinum Aruba Surf Club - I am probably stupid - no?IP: Logged |

I traded a one bedroom 2005 Aruba Surf Club larger bedroom with kitchen for a one bedroom any size, lock-off or master, for 2006 for either Surf Club or Ocean Club 2006. I am waiting for the trade. I traded high season for high season. I would suspect I would be at the top of the list.IP: Logged |

Has anyone had any luck trading into the Marriott Aruba Ocean or Surf Clubs recently? Still waiting on a pending request and I'm considering using points for a week at the Stellaris Hotel and Casino if the trade doesn't materialize...just don't want to move too soon.-------------------- Tom IP: Logged |

You can reserve the room at the Hotel and cancel up to 14 days prior to arrival with no penalty. You don't actually have to request the award for the room until a couple of weeks before you go. Of course if you need the FF miles with the package you would have to order that now. IP: Logged |

we had no luck requesting Aruba Surf Club (3/26/05-4/1/05) after depositing a 2 BR ski week (same week) at Mountainside. We deposited 1 year out immediately after making the Mountainside reservation. Fortunately we made it a request first and so didn't lose our week and ended up having a great time skiing.IP: Logged |

I traded in my one bedroom at the Canyon Villas and ended up getting a January week at the Aruba Surf Club which is what I was looking for. I made the trade over two months ago. I wish you the best of luck getting in!IP: Logged |

A couple months ago, we traded our Marriott Ocean Watch(silver) for Aruba Surf Club(2br OV) for Dec. 4-11-2005. It only took us about 10 days to confirm this trade. We are HAPPY.IP: Logged |
