This is concerning the RCI 3-yr bonus ceritifate that is good for 2 bonus weeks per year, these are given out to anyone upgrading or buying in a resort as a incentives to use RCI. These are really worthless. I haven't checked into the cruise offer, but think this will be as worthless. I think RCI thinks people are not itelligent enough to look into these things before using them and will be making a profit off of timeshare owners.

RCI has a Last Call, which is the same as the Bonus Weeks, you request and confirm within 2-45 days of travel. The only difference is that the Bonus Weeks you are pay more $50 more for a suite then Last Call, the same amount for a 1-bedroom, and $50 less for a 2-bedroom. On Last Calls you don't have to pay the $49 for a gift certificate that you pay for the bonus week. The Bonus Week with gift certificate you are paying $99 more on the suite, $49 more on the 1-bedroom, and the same on a 2-bedroom in Last Call. It is very unlikely that you will be able to get the 2-bedroom because of the demand from Last Call.

As you can see RCI is trying to make a profit off of timeshare owners. I feel this is not right and that resorts needs to speak to RCI about this. This type of business practice doesn't seem to be legal, but knowing RCI they have checked into the legal aspect of this.

Hi Kathleen
Welcome to TUG! Hope you find a lot of useful info here. A lot deeper than on the RCI BBS.

Unfortunately, there is a lot of both II & RCI (and other) info here, as Jeff indicated....but its not always negative. (Don't ask for a % ... its probably much higher on the negative side. But it's good to vent...{forgot...gotta find my wife...}
