Currently, I own a number weeks at VRI resorts and trade throu RCI. We need to decide if we want to convert our weeks to RCI point system. I have few questions regarding:
1) Should I maintain two RCI membership: RCI Week acct, RCI Point Acct?
2) What is the annual cost for RCI Point Acct?
3) What is the add'l annual fee pay to VRI for using points?
4) What is the exchange fee for RCI points?

Also, can any one has some experiece w/VRI resort Point conversion (the process, costs, etc.)? Good or Bad.

Thanks

I have no experience with VRI, but have been an RCI Points member for several years now so will try to answer your RCI Points questions.

1. With an RCI Points account, your weeks account is included at no additional cost.
2. Annual cost for Points account is currently $99 paid to RCI.
3. We paid only once to join. No other yearly fee is collected by our timesare. We only pay to the timeshare our regular yearly maintenance fee.
4. Currently, the exchange fee to a Points resort for 5-7 nights is $79 - 4 nights or less a fee of $19/night is charged; a Weeks resort reservation is $139; hotel transactions are $29; airline (per ticket) and car transactions are $49.

There are other services provided with transaction fees, but the above are the most requested.

The cost to join through one of our US resorts was way too costly. We decided to purchase an Australian resort and join through it as the joining fee was much more reasonable and the dollar exchange was very favorable at the time. We have enjoyed our Points account.
