I'm currently in the process of buying two EOY weeks that have been converted to RCI Points. Both weeks are at the same resort, with the same seller. The resort says these weeks stay converted when they transfer. However, I'm not sure of the process of transferring these into my existing RCI Points account. I also need to transfer the points that the seller currently has in his account, since they are coming with the sale. I have called RCI and asked on "Ask RCI", but am getting conflicting and confusing informtaion on how to do this. Has anyone here done this? IP: Logged |

I am in the process of doing it myself right now. But I, too, am fuzzy on the details. The seller has agreed to pay all transfer fees from the resort and to RCI points. So, I don't know the exact breakdown.I think there is an RCI points transfer fee of something like $199. And, to transfer points, I think there is an additional fee of $49 or $99. But, I am not sure. I don't know how the use year gets resolved. We'll see when it's done. IP: Logged |

Thanks for the info, Boca! A fee of $199 even if the week was already in points, and the buyer already owns points? If that's true, I may back out of the deal that I'm involved in. Boca, can you tell me where you got these figures from? Is there something written, or was this told to you over the phone? The realtor that is handling the transaction has the policy that the *buyer* pays all of these transfer costs, so if this is true, it may kill the deal for me. IP: Logged |

Judy,I think I saw it on eBay. One seller offers one deal if you are an RCI points member. A higher amount if you aren't. IP: Logged |

Last time I researched the issue, RCI charged $99 to transfer a points account to the new owner.IP: Logged |

PA took the words "out of my mouth". $99 is the figure I've always heard to add a resort or week. I suspect you might be able to add both for one fee. Not sure on the transfer of points.Sheila IP: Logged |

Thanks for the replies! On the "Ask RCI" board, Madge just said it was $100. Either $99 or $100 would be OK. Has anyone successfully done this? IP: Logged |

Judy,I am certain that the fee is $100 to transfer or add a resort to an individual points account. The fee is $199 for non-points members because they need to pay an additional $99 for their first years membership. Kirk IP: Logged |
