In analizing the cost per night of my points transactions, my average cost of a night in weeks is $44.00 and in points it's $34.50. This includes all cost. Not bad in either case for one bedroom units however, at 1.2 cents per point, points partners is not a viable option. I guess I would use points partners if the points were about to expire. Then again, I guess that's what points partners was designed for. ------------------ A Toast: Champagne to our real friends & real pain to our sham friends. IP: Logged |

I'm writing this from my one bedroom unit at the Westgate Branson Woods which I reserved through RCI Points for about $229.00 ($80.00 for the required 8,000 points/45 day window and $149.00 for the exchange fee) or about $22.00 per night. If I had exchanged one of my Weeks it would have cost me about $549.00 ($400.00 for the MF in the unit exchanged + $149.00 Exchange Fee) or about $78.00 per night.IP: Logged |

But don't you have to continue to pay MF whether you are in points or weeks?IP: Logged |

True. Add another $17 - $20 per night ($400 divided by 4 weeks divided by 7 nights). This assumes I am going to use my one week to get four 8,000 - 9,000/45 day window reservations which I am well on the way to doing. If you don't have a lot of flexibility this may not work for you. The other variable is how often you can use "Last Call" weeks with no exchange (RCI Weeks)or reservation (RCI Points) required.IP: Logged |

I'm sure this has been discussed before. I'm looking into a points package which could generate from 8-10 weeks using the 9,000 point scenario. We would have the flexibilty to take advantage of these opportunities. How long can one stay at a particular resort? We are looking at the Virginia Beach / Williamsburg region. IP: Logged |

The 9000 points weeks are from the Weeks side, so they would be a week at a time. I guess you could book consecutive ones if they were available, but each would carry the $149 exchange fee. Still a bargain if you can find what you want.I just booked my first on Friday for a June 4th arrival on Nantucket. I can only stay three or four of the nights, but it's still a great bargain at a resort I love. Sheila [This message has been edited by sfwilshire (edited 05-08-2005).] IP: Logged |
