OK, so I won an auction on ebay that came with a free Timeshare too, after reading the info on the Royal Holiday, I took a points account as my "Free" add on - but now, I have to decide where to go - the account is 17500 points per year - I found that many of the places listed on the website dont have reviews (or at least I cant find them) So, for those of you who use Royal Holiday - which resorts to you LOVE? (It's just 3 of us, me, hubby & my son who will be 4 in August) TIA for any recommdations.I have already checked the few that are reviewed in the tug review section, but, would love to hear about any of the others. If you like Cancun, here are two recommendations: 1. A Presidential unit at Park Royal Piramides (28,500 pts - high season; $38/day p.p. AI) It's a large one bedroom with a whirlpool on the terrace. You can do this if you carry a year's points or are over 50 and can accelerate. 2. The Hyatt Cancun Caribe is a very nice hotel. Check the point requirements at www.Royal-Holiday.com 3. In London, 2 Hyde Park Square is well-located. 4. San Francisco's POWELL PLACE AT NOB HILL is quite conveniently located. [This message has been edited by JosephP (edited 05-15-2005).] IP: Logged |

Studio units at Park Royal Piramides, Cancun have 2 double beds, sleeps 4, all inclusive is $38 per person, per day, mandatory. Your 4 year old would be no charge. With the credits you have, you'd get a studio for 8 nights. We go there every year for 3-4 weeks, love it. Last year we went to Lake Placid Club Lodges in upstate New York for a 4 day/3 night stay, the only size unit is a 2 bedroom/2bath. That would allow you to bring extra people with you and you could drive there to save on airfare. It was very nice, we were impressed as it had recently been refurbished. It had a jacuzzi tub and sauna, sleeps 8 people, quite spacious with great furnishings, very large kitchen. Recently we were on vacation in Orlando at our other timeshare and decided to check out High Point World Resort for a future stay. That was a very nice resort, lovely units, grounds and pool.An Ambassador is a 1 bedroom, sleeps 4. June and September require less credits but you'd be short 267. You could purchase that amount for about 5¢ per credit, if the price hasen't changed. We spoke to some long time owners while we were there and they love the resort. A few new resorts were added to the directory last year in Cape Cod, also 1 in Block Island, R.I. Those may be nice for a short vacation if you don't have enough credits for a full week. Thats whats great about credits. I'm pretty sure the minimum stay is still 3 nights. We'd like to try those places for a quick getaway, even if we went off season. I've heard good reviews about Jockey Club in Las Vegas, Scottsdale Camelback Resort in Arizona, and Hyatt Cancun Caribe in Cancun,(not all inclusive). Maybe others will let you know about their favorite resorts so it can help you decide where you want to vacation. Good luck and enjoy your RHC membership, we certainly enjoy ours. You can always purchase more credits through resale if you feel the need. Jean IP: Logged |

I know there are a couple here in Nassau, Bahamas. Both are hotel type timeshares.------------------ A Toast: Champagne to our real friends & real pain to our sham friends. IP: Logged |

Question, if you get a RHC points account, does it have a home resort or is it in everythings? what would be a good T/S to look for for someone new to the points system and only has 1 T/S and is somewhat new to T/S? I travel a lot for business and for pleasure and have lived in Europe for 10 years a while back... IP: Logged |

I am in the process of buying a RHC WEEK not points. The mfs are $685 for an ambassador membership all weeks except for the four holiday weeks. Is this type of membership, weeks I mean, really worthwhile buying. In fact I am getting it free all I have to do is pay transfer fees of$350 and the MFs of $685 to have the membership. But do I want it. I am worried I will be stuck with something I can't use or would not use. Are the resorts really nice and does anyone know of someone who is happy using weeks. There is no such thing as a free lunch, the MFs go to on and on until 2017 when the contract expires.Any suggestions from you owners out there should I take my free timeshare or let it pass? I think I am a little leery of anything that looks so good and has gotten such a bad rap. Yes, I do know I will have to donate it to be rid of it.. IP: Logged |

Marylyn --High season weeks memberships are often sold as being available every week except for the four holiday weeks, but that's not true (at least not in my case). Different resorts have different prime seasons (e.g., July and August is prime at most if not all of the European resorts). I don't think the resellers are necessarily being dishonest on purpose -- the same story seems to be told by everyone -- I think they just don't know any better. (Maybe I'm just being naive here!) My weeks membership was originally sold at Brigantine Beach, where an Ambassador unit/high season equals a 2-BR any week except for June and September (Mild Season) and the Prime Season weeks, which are President’s Week, Holy Week, Easter Week, Christmas & New Year´s (not exactly prime weeks at the Jersey shore, but that's what the rulebook says!). I might be allowed to use the lower season (Mild) weeks (I've never asked), but I'm not allowed to pay extra and use the Prime Season weeks (not that I'd want to anyway). But, where the unit was originally sold doesn't really matter. I can use the membership at dozens of resorts, but I have to use it during those resorts' high season. I'm very happy with my membership, but don't fall for the "every week but the four holiday weeks" story. I don't think it's true. IP: Logged | |
