Opinions please...Heres the question...You own a week at Vistana/Orlando and you ahave joined RCI points. Your RCI points membership expires end of 2006. Today you use some points to make 2 exchanges for early 2006. Next week you decide to terminate your RCI points acct and return to the standard RCI "weeks" program. Do you loose the 2 exchanges booked for early 2006 that you had made using RCI points or are they yours regardless of whether you stay in RCI points or not? A rep told me if I left RCI points before I travel on those exchnages, I loose them. Anyone know the reality of this situation? Thanks! I don't remember reading the exact language in the RCI Points agreement but it is common that exchange systems - point or weeks - require that you have a current membership in order to use the service. They may be stricter with points as there is additional cost involved. I wouldn't expect to be able to use the points if you drop your membership. ------------------ John Chase Use Email Icon above for contact address IP: Logged |

When we sold off our points unit, they transferred the committed exchanges we had over to our weeks account, kind of, they don't show online, and since they were made by the points account, we didn't run into the 1 in 4 on one of our exchanges. So if I understood your question, they should be transferred to your weeks account if you discontinue points at the end of your commitment. fwiw, Greg My Website quote: Originally posted by Maz: Opinions please...Heres the question...You own a week at Vistana/Orlando and you ahave joined RCI points. That makes sense...I guess as long as you have some kind of membership with RCI your exchanges would be honored...My problem is that the exchanges were made before selling the timeshare. I guess I just have to be sure the new owners stay with RCI points at least through the first quarter of 2006...Maz------------------ My Website Westin St. John Marriott-Canyon Villas Marriott Park City Oregon Coastal Fairfield Points Worldmark/Trendwest Punta Mita,Mx.(Non-Timeshare) IP: Logged |
