Madge, My wife has a RCI membership and timeshare. I just recently bought a timeshare which was registered in my name only.Does my wife's RCI membership extend to me, that is to say can either spouse use it to deposit a week and exchange. Or can she deposit my week and exchange my timeshare. Since we are married, and live in the same house. More generally, how far does membership extend ? (children over 18 in the same house, sister living in next town etc.) Thanks............Pete IP: Logged |

Seems to me the easiest thing to do is add your name to the RCI membership. You should then be able to deposit weeks in either of your names.IP: Logged |

Do all 6 names have to be related ? Surely they must, otherwise, I can get a membership and sublet nameSpace on it for only $20 :0 ........Peter IP: Logged |

I have seven on my points account. They do not need to be related, but they are all required to be owners. I do not know how strict they are with the seven being on the deed, but the seven were setup on the RCI transfer paperwork that came from the resort. My deed actually had eight owners and I once asked about switching one on the account. I did not do it because it seemed like way too much trouble. The group that makes the changes appears to be the same group that processes the transfer paper work and they took six weeks to complete the transfer. So I left it as it was. IP: Logged |

Let me get this straight. My daughter has a points account and I have a weeks account. Is it possible for her to list me as a 'owner' on her account if it does not exceed seven 'owners'? And then I could use her points account to deposit weeks that I own but are not points resorts? and on trades using the points account I would not have to pay for guest certificates? Did I get that right or did I read the other comments wrong? ------------------ Owner at:Liki Tike Village(Disney area), Treetops Resort at Gatlingburg, Resort World (Lake Buena Vista, Fla) and Massanutten Virginia IP: Logged |

Does it matter whose name is listed first on the resort deed? I'm not sure if my husband's name is on my RCI Weeks account. I'm working on purchasing a new week, and the seller has drawn up the paperwork with my husband's name listed first, even though I'm handling the transaction. (Which I find annoying, but that's another matter.) As long as I'm one of the people on the deed, will that be good enough for RCI? IP: Logged |

Pete, Spouses may always be served in connection with RCI accounts. However, in order to combine the accounts or specifically name the spouses on the accounts, you would just need to submit a written request. Other friends and family members may be served by purchasing an RCI Guest Certificate for $49. However, the Guest Certificate only allows access to one deposited week or exchange.

madprof46, This scenario would be allowed as long as your daughter also adds your name to the ownership deed of the timeshare.

Judy321,The only way I can think of that this could present a problem is with the resort's deposit verification process. If your husband's name is not on your RCI account, the resort may decline your deposit requests. You may simply send us a signed note asking to add your husband's name to your RCI account and to list it first. This would hopefully resolve that problem. ------------------ ~ Madge IP: Logged |

Madge, What if you own a resort with another family member? I own 2 resorts with my husband and one with my sister. I book all the ones for my husband and myself. Can I get our account to be for me and my sister? If so, I'm assuming that all the paperwork would still come to my address or can you add more than one address? thanks - jannaIP: Logged |

janna,In the case where the ownerships are different, I would recommend maintaining two separate accounts. If you choose to combine all of the ownerships into one account, you would need to remove your husband's name in order for your sister to be able to access the account. Only two names may appear on one account. However, spouses may always be served, even if not specifically named. Only one address may be listed on an account, and all materials would be sent there. ------------------ ~ Madge IP: Logged |
