This morning I received an email sent a few hours earlier saying "RCI Wants Your Opinion." I thought this was my opportunity to express my opinion about the creaky website, diminishing satisfaction with exchanges, etc. etc. When I clicked on the link to do the survey I found out just how much RCI is interested in my opinion. The survey had been closed after just a few hours on the basis that RCI had all the responses it wanted.Madge, what was the purpose of all this? How can RCI possibly think the responses over so brief a period could be representative? Diane

At least you received the survey. Why didn't everyone receive it?------------------ SBK [This message has been edited by SBK (edited 03-22-2005).] [This message has been edited by SBK (edited 03-22-2005).] IP: Logged |

Very interesting. I receive a similar email, time stamped 11:18am, which is AFTER the op had already posted here that the survey was closed. (I didn't click the imbedded link, so I don't know if I would have gotten the same message)Also, the email began, "Dear CAROL" which is NOT my name. I don't think I even know anyone named Carol... If it helps any, the URL that comes up when I move the cursor over the link is .../rci.surveyincite.com/servlet/SSLNK?c=5655... ------------------ 4200... Every day! IP: Logged |

Diane,All of these accounts concern me. If any of you still have the e-mails you received, would you please forward them to feedback@rci.com, entering TUG in the subject line? I'd like to look into this further. Thanks for the reports. ------------------ ~ Madge IP: Logged |

Dave,Thanks for the smile. This does appear to have been a broad problem, affecting the first names appearing in many messages. A separate communication is likely to be forthcoming by e-mail. ------------------ ~ Madge IP: Logged |

I got mine and I was able to take the survey. The only problem I seen was when you get to the part where you write in your comments you are limited to 100 charactors or less. Thanks RCI for thinking about me. ------------------ Darryl Our Photo Page IP: Logged |

I first received the Survey about a week ago. I don't remember if it had the correct name on it or not. I could not get to the survey because the link would not work.I just got another email. It told me RCI was sorry if the first email had the wrong name. It told me RCI was sorry if I couldn't get to the survey. It was because RCI didn't have enough capability to handle the responces. They wish I would try again as RCI has gotten much more capasity. I clicked the link and got the message after some time " That Site is Not Responding " OH WELL ??? ------------------ TSsince1983 IP: Logged |

I got the new apology email today, with the link to take the survey. When I clicked on the link, I got an error message. I then clicked on the link to be removed from the mailing lists and had myself removed from the mailing lists again. Hopefully it works this time, as I have already gone through the process in the past and still received the survey email.------------------ Happy trails, jimbiggs WorldMark owners unite www.wmowners.com IP: Logged |

I too thought it was odd that the section for comments was limited to 100 characters! Clearly RCI doesn't want to hear from us.IP: Logged |

My "survey" wanted input on Endless Vacation magazine, which gave me my chuckle for the day since we have given beaucoup input on that issue already.Of course, my survey would not open either. So, I just replied saying it would not open, but my input would be to make Endless Vacations about timesharing again. There are so many articles that are just not even remotely related to timesharing, or even close to areas where there are resorts. But, we've had that discussion before. ------------------ 16 years timesharing/80 exchanges/Branson-Table Rock Lake boat rides Interests: Buying/Selling/Renting/Donating/Exchanging/Searching Florida/Kauai/SOCAL/Colorado/Missouri/Arkansas/Iowa/Ohio Consumer Advocacy/Estate Planning/Priceline/Hotwire/Sports/Boating/Fishing/Golf/Lake-living [This message has been edited by JLB (edited 03-27-2005).] IP: Logged |

I agree, the magazine has very little about timesharing. Most of us are not interested in most of the places they talk about.I think they should have info about the high demand places timeshare folks want to go.Things like "Last Minute Tee times " in Hilton Head, Fun things to do in Orlando other than the main attractions. Places to fish in high demand beach areas. Diamonds in the rough resorts. Things that will enhance our exchange experiences. Just my ideas. ------------------ TSsince1983 IP: Logged |

I too received it this morning and was able to take this so called survey. RCI is only interested in the 100 characters with regards to 'your' comments. This was such a waste of time. Here is an idea, but I'm sure it has been posted.....since we only had 100 character on the survey why not list the rest on this site....especially since this is the RCI Message Board. I will start: take a few RCI resorts every issue and do a full detail article about the resorts. Example - what is the weather like, how many time share units are offered, what is in the surrounding area, what resturants are in the area, etc. Just a thought! ------------------ ritzrita

Dave,This was RCI's first foray into surveys that look for feedback about a specific issue, sent to targeted audiences. There were technical problems, and we have appreciated the feedback from members that will help us to get them cleaned up for future surveys. I've passed along the feedback about the 100 character maximum. Initally, we may not have anticipated the space needed for specific feedback. We do want the feedback, and more surveys will be used going forward. However, they should be much improved over the first one. ------------------ ~ Madge IP: Logged |

Well, I received the Endless Vacation survey. the email was, in fact, addressed to me, and the survey worked. The 100 character limits was very frustrating, though. The box provided had room for way more than 100 characters, and nothing to indicate when the 100 character limits had been reached. When I tried to submit my answers, the survey rejected them because I was over the 100 character limit. When I went back to shorten my answers, the contact information I had filled in had been ereased, and I had to enter it again. This happened repeatedly until I was able to get my answer short enough. Usally, if a form has a character limit, it simply doesn't give room to type more characters than the limit. This was the first time I ever saw a form that expected me to hand-count the number of characters that I wrote. IP: Logged |
