I have two boys ages 11 and 12. I'm looking for resorts on the ocean in warm climates that have great onsite activities for kids as well as other activities in the general area. Otherwise, kids will be bored and mommy and daddy miserable listening to them. Thanks for any suggestions you have. Note: It is not an option to leave them home.

Hyatt has great "Hyatt Kids Camps", the Aquarius in Dorado, PR
has a camp, Disney is especially geared towards families with children. We stayed at a hotel for one night last week in Orlando prior to checking into Disney's OKW. The hotel, Royal Paicific Resort, had a children's program and was next to Universal Orlando (via water shuttle launch).
There are probably better ones out there and your fellow Tuggers will advise you.

My three children had a great time at Grand Pacific Palisades.

They enjoyed everything the resort had to offer them and the area has lots to offer as well. Our favorite was the San Diego Zoo. It is like no other in California.

There's nothing like the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas for kids with their 11 pools, beautiful beaches, water slides, and marine life. It's a II resort, not RCI so I rented a unit. My 13 and 11 year-old girls just loved it!! It can get pricey but it's definitely worth going at least once.

My kids love the Marriott Maui (summer) and Marriott Park City (winter).

You can't beat the Royal Resorts in Cancun for:
- ongoing (and free!) activities for all ages - of particular interest to your boys: water volleyball, pool boogie board races, etc.
- activities in the area and easy transportation to get there (no need for a car) (including snorkeling, XCaret, Xel-Ha, Mayan Ruins, jetskiing, golf cart drive on La Isla Mujeres,...)
- inexpensive food options
- and, for you and your wife, gorgeous relaxing turquoise ocean!
