I have been checking the above sight for air fare. I'd like to hear whether anyone has bought air through them , good or bad. Who is actually selling the tickets , the airline or private party? It all looks to good to be true. What about the vacations that were closing with just $1 bid? or even some nominal sum, like $37. Will they say that reserve has not been met as Ebay might. I'd appreciate any info. My husband and I are retiring this June and could take advantage of these offers.

I don't have any details about the air fare question, but as for auctions closing for low bid ($1 and up), if you read the details, in all cases (at least all that I've seen) you end up paying a tax/service charge type fee above and beyond your bid. For instance on the resort weeks that RCI has up for auction, there is normally a $195 fee above and beyond your bid. The seller probably at least breaks even if the item goes for $1 and everything above that is gravy. Many of the resort auctions also have season-specific surcharges. There are some great deals there, but as with many auctions, I've seen people pay as much or more than the item/service could have been bought for online. Do the research first!

Bought a cruise from them at a very good fare, but you definitely have to know the product's price or you can wind up paying more for it than you should.

We have won 6 RCI TS weeks for $1 to $86 plus the $195 fee.
Also hotel nights and airline tickets and recently dinner certificates.Had problems on a couple occasions which were satisfactorily workrd out. Recently got a nice casita in Sante Fe at dancing ground for $420 which has breakfast included.Their web site rate was about $1800 for a week.
I think they CAN be a good deal but yo must read carefully.

I have used skyauction a couple of times with no problem. I have never used it for airfare. I was going to try the airfare for a trip to Hawaii but found that it was for 1 week only and you could not stay additional time because of the air portion. I did get just accomodations at the Bay Club on the BI for 1 week. It is a 2br unit for $692.00 with all the additional cost already added in. Also got the following week at Kauai Coast resort at the Beachboy 2 br unit for $583.00. If I remember right I will have to pay the $10 - $30.00 tax per room to the resorts. The paperwork I received is the same exchange confirmation you would get from RCI. It even has the RCI logo. You really have to read the particulars and be sure you can live with any restrictions. Example. If you plan to use it for the airfare and it states 7 days but you want to stay longer I do not believe that you can do it. You would probably be stuck. An earlier reply mentioned the extra cost. Be sure to add every thing up to be sure it is a bargain. Example. The bid I put in for the Bay Club was actually $307.00 plus$15.00 processing fee, Tax/service charge $195.00 and $175.00 charge for a 2br verses a 1 br unit.total $692.00 I felt it was still better than a hotel room. It breaks down to $98.85 per night for a 2 bedroom. Good Luck

Sky Auction has some really good prices. I have won a couple of the auctions. Just be careful to read all the fine print and all of the add on costs. Sometimes you win with a $1 but the
add-ons are 300. FWIW

We got 4 RT air tickets to SA for under $1000 average price all included. $2400 was the best we could find for our dates elsewhere.Watch for the new seasonal change fee of about $200 for the week. They even have it for AZ in the slow hot summer.
