I was wondering if anyone could give me some insight into the layout of Sheraton's Vistana Villages? I've been reading posts and see references to certain areas (ie: Cascades, Fountains, etc.) Which are newer? Are the accomodations any different? Etc.Also, I have been looking at the few resales out there and noticed prices on what appear to be the same 2 br unit that sleep 8 range from just under $10,000 to nearly double that! Are some just great deals and some really overpriced or are there subtle but important differences? What questions should I be asking the owners? Finally, I plan on visiting there in the next 6 months and was wondering if nightly guests stay in the same accomodations as the timeshare owners who are using their week(s)? Thanks in advance. ------------------ Brian Not an owner yet, just doing my homework. IP: Logged |

There is Vistana Villages and also Vistana Resorts. One big difference in price is that Vistana Villages is SVO mandatory - in other words, it comes with the right to exchange within the highly desirable Sarwood System. With Vistana Resorts - you cannot exchange within the Starwood System. Check out the review section for detailed info. on the properties.------------------ Denise [This message has been edited by dbmMayer (edited 12-12-2004).] IP: Logged |

Cascades, Fountains, Lakes, Falls, Spas, Courts, etc are all Sheraton Vistana. Since you are interested in Sheraton Vistana Villages, you should know that that is at a location about 3-4 miles away from Sheraton Vistana. I don't think there is a different name for the subsections yet. All of the units are the same. They are VERY nice. The unit sizes are 1br (471 sqft), 1br premium (855 sqft), 2br (1025 sqft) and 2br lockoff (1326 sqft). All the units currently have some type of view, mostly of the pool. 2br lockoff from developer is $27,000 and it comes with 95,700 StarOptions and 82000 StarPoints as a bonus. I didn't see any ROFR clause in the documents, but there may be one in there. I can't wait to find these units for $5000 on Redweek. It'll probably take a couple years, but it should be worth the wait. IP: Logged |

Follow this link and you can find the layout of the Vistana Villages: http://www.starwoodvo.com/resorts/welcome.jsp?resortID=1 Is a very nice property, and not too far away from the main parks. IP: Logged |

You asked about Cascades, Fountains, etc. They are part of Sheraton Vistant Resort - 8800 Vistana Centre Drive, Orlando. Resales are not part of the SVO network.
Sheraton Vistana Villages is a different property - 12401 International Dr., Orlando. Resales ARE part of the SVO network. It is open, but maybe there is additional construction going on? ------------------ Denise IP: Logged |

My apologies, I thought that those sections were a part of Vistana Villages. That is where I am looking, not Vistana Resort.BocaBum99- Any idea what developer prices are for the 1BR premium and 2BR std (non lockoff)? What about maintenance? ------------------ Brian Not an owner yet, just doing my homework. [This message has been edited by brergo (edited 12-12-2004).] IP: Logged |

I didn't get the prices for all unit sizes. But, the MF for the 2br lockoff was about $1000. Ouch.IP: Logged |

My wife and I just visited Vistana Village about 2 weeks ago and we didn't see any construction going on.... However, the development looks 2/3rds complete with room to build several more buildings. We also went to see Vistana Resort witch is a much larger resort and has a combination of new and old buildings and it looked like they had a lot more kid attivities going on. Personally, we liked Vistana Village even though it's a greater distance from the park.

The construction is in an area towards the back of the property, past the tennis courts. Depending on which building you stayed at, you may not have seen it unless you happened to wonder over there.IP: Logged |
