Sorry if this has been posted before, but for some reason the system will not let me search ... says I am not a member even after just loggin in.ok ... I have been reading lately that it looks like that I can either rent out, or give my rentals out to others. In the past, I have always been under the impression that the owner must be there during the visit (at least for check in on the first day). Has this changed ? Can I use the points to book travel for others ... or even rent the weeks ? Thanks, Mike IP: Logged |

Just call HGVC and let a rep know that your reservation will be used by your guests and they will take down the names. Then your guests will be able to check in. You can also get a guest confirmation that reflects the guests' names, though it is not necessary to have at check-in (just their IDs). If you make a reservation online yourself, you can also just input your guests' names and the email confirmation will have their names on the reservation.IP: Logged |

Does this work for RCI properties ... or just HGVC ?Sorry, really blown away by this. We always thought the owner needed to be present. Many of our vacations in the past have been reorganized based on us being there first ... or going at all :-) IP: Logged |

Works for RCI exchanges (via HGVC) as well. You'll need to pay RCI a fee for a guest certificate, though; I can't recall what the current fee is. I guess you don't read your member guide terms thoroughly, huh? But keep in mind that RCI rules prohibit *renting* of weeks you obtain through an RCI exchange. IP: Logged |

As Sandy mentioned, owners must be present at check in only for OPEN Season cash reservations. IP: Logged |
