I'm sure a WKORV owner knows offhand what the property taxes were for 2004. I'm trying to do our taxes and can't find the bill. I went to mystarcentral but it didn't appear to itemize the charges. Does anyone know? Thanks in advance!IP: Logged |

I called up the association and figured it out. For 2004 it was $75.37 for the 2 bedroom, in case anyone wants to itemize it on their taxes.IP: Logged |

I believe in the past DaveM has said that if you have to look through the financials to find out what the taxes are then that is an indication that they are not tax deductable. IP: Logged |

I think he said, if the taxes aren't itemized, they aren't deductible, but if they are listed separately in your MF bill, they are deductible. I'm not sure where DH filed ours, but as I recall, the tax was listed separately from the MF.------------------ Denise [This message has been edited by dbmMayer (edited 03-30-2005).] IP: Logged |

My CPA says that they are, so every dollar counts, I guess. It's called Ad Valorem Tax on the MF statement.IP: Logged |

This is what DaveM said in his previous post:If you pay the property tax separately (e.g., for California timeshares) or if it is separately stated on your billing from the resort, you can deduct it. ------------------ Denise IP: Logged |

Thats why I posted the link. From your post in which you said the Starwood website didnt itemize and when you said you "called up the association and figured it out" it sounded like the taxes were not listed seperately. You say they are listed on the bill seperately then according to DaveM they are deductible.IP: Logged |

First of all - there are two Denise's on this board. To add to the confusion, we are both from CA and both own the same units at the same resort!
I'm dbmMayer (good twin) and she is Deniselew1 (evil twin) Anyway - the tax is itemized on the bill - but Denise (Deniselew1) couldn't find her bill and had to call and ask... ------------------ Denise [This message has been edited by dbmMayer (edited 03-30-2005).] IP: Logged |

Yes, it is itemized under Ad Valorem Tax but 1) I couldn't find my 2004 bill and 2) how did I know what Ad Valorem Tax meant. I have my 2005 bill, so I knew that a lot of things were itemized.Does anyone know how it works with the EOYs? Do you pay the same Ad Valorem Tax every year even though you own an EOY? We own two EOYs, so do we pay twice the property tax? It was 75.37 for 2004 and 74.14 for 2005. That's for one interval (no bill for the second interval yet). Evil twin, ha ha. Maybe that's because I still owe the board a review of WKORV for last November... IP: Logged |
